According to multiple studies, the quality of the counseling relationship is the most critical factor in determining the outcome of counseling, so it's really important to find someone you connect with. My main role as a counselor is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental environment where together we can begin to address your areas of concern. I have been trained to work with individuals, couples, families, and children. My practice is grounded in an integrated and holistic approach drawing on a variety of modalities including psychotherapy, mindfulness, as well as cognitive behavioral techniques (goal setting, homework, etc.). My approach to marital counseling focuses on improving communication, trust, and intimacy through developing insight into interpersonal dynamics, here-and-now observations, and goal setting. I also use a variety of modalities here as well including techniques from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. We all experience challenges that can overwhelm our capacity to cope, preventing us from thriving and living life freely and fully.
