Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Every project is different, and it's a lot of fun to see so much variety. I'm excited about the story you want to share. Whether it's a pamphlet, novel, or newsletter, you were passionate enough to put the information in writing, and that's exciting.

Rebecca did an amazing job for me. I gave her little more than my present copy, my concerns and some vague directions on theme and feeling and asked her to create a completely new trifold for me. She corrected some phrasing, updated the wording to make the whole thing feel more "thematic", provided a style guide for the future, scheduled a time to review first pass, and did it all on a timeline because I'm working on a rebranding. Professional, punctual and able to understand and meet a clients vaguely worded needs. I will be more than happy to use her services again.

Rebecca Martinez was very professional and efficient. She delivered my documents and that was very convenient to me. The work was impeccable.

A small editing piece needed review. I chose Moneypenny because they were the easiest to get in contact with and had experience with reviewing technical content. Once the best method for editing, reviewing, and sending content was established, Moneypenny completed work ahead of schedule. The only thing I can think of to improve the service to provide a quick summary at the end of the project that outlines ways to improve. For example, I wondered whether or not the content made sense generally speaking, what could be done better, continuity and flow, etc. Other than that, for quick editing needs I'd choose this service again. Thanks!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's OK to ask questions! An editor is a lot like your back-up or your guide through the difficult terrain of language. I'm always happy to amend a quote based on a change in services, and I'm even happier to explain what kind of work you can expect from me. Don't know the difference between a proofread and a copyedit? No problem! I'd love to discuss it with you and help you decide which service is right for you.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A lot of people are new to the editing game. They aren't sure what they want or need, and the skills that an editor provides can seem a little confusing. Editors aren't just grammar geeks (though, for many of us that's certainly part of it). An editor is often your first objective critic outside of your circle of family and acquaintances. It's important to take advantage of the services an editor has to offer, because a good editor will offer sound advice that you may not get from your friends and family. An editor will help you understand your audience's needs in ways you might not have ever considered. And an editor will know your work inside and out!
