After a frustrating experience with a previous contractor whose work was already buckling and failing within three months, I hired Stryker and his team at Tuff Jobs to completely rebuild my deck from the ground up. I honestly could not have asked for a better experience or a more beautiful result.
Marquis, who did the majority of the construction, is an absolute artist with an engineer's mind. His craftsmanship is extraordinary. Every board is perfectly aligned, every gap is meticulously spaced, and every detail reflects the pride he takes in his work. The deck isn't just beautiful — it's incredibly solid, thoughtfully constructed, and built to last. Marquis is a true perfectionist, and it shows in every inch of his work.
Stryker, the owner, was equally impressive. He spent considerable time with me during the estimating and planning process, was incredibly responsive, and offered thoughtful design recommendations. What I particularly appreciated was his honesty about costs. Rather than upselling me, he suggested practical alternatives that achieved the same beautiful result without unnecessary expense.
We also encountered an unexpected foundation issue after the old deck was demolished. I had to quickly find another contractor to handle the foundation repairs before the deck construction could continue. Stryker was incredibly accommodating, working with me to adjust the schedule and allow enough time for the foundation contractor to complete the repairs. Once that work was finished, he coordinated getting the deck construction back on the schedule and saw the project through to completion. His flexibility and responsiveness made what could have been a very stressful situation much easier to manage.
What sets this team apart is their combination of exceptional craftsmanship, problem-solving ability, integrity, and genuine pride in their work. They're hands-on, knowledgeable, meticulous about doing things correctly and to code, and they clearly care about the finished product.
After everything I went through with the previous contractor, working with Stryker, Marquis, and the Tuff Jobs team was an entirely different experience. They took a difficult situation and turned it into something I'm genuinely thrilled with.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you want a deck that's not just built, but beautifully crafted by people who truly know what they're doing, this is the team to hire.

The stair treads were replaced cleanly and carefully, and the stairs feel much more solid and safe after the work was completed. I also appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to address concerns as they came up.
