- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically what happens is we work with a customer to understand the nature of their event, usually through email or a phone call. Then after that we offer them a quote for our services and and any additional add-ons they might request. Then as the date for the event gets closer, we finalize event details such as set-up time and location. Then we work the event, afterwards delivering our products to the customers and ensuring they're satisfied.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Written by Sam (lead photographer): A majority of my formal education was during high school when I took several photography courses, eventually culminating in taking AP Photography and receiving a 5 on my portfolio. The most advanced class and highest grade attainable for high school students. I continued my training post-high school by doing various photography jobs, including working at the woodland park zoo. I've shot everything from nature to boudoir and I'm continually educating myself on new techniques and styles. Additionally, I continually refresh my knowledge by training members of our staff in photography to best serve our customers.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?I'm particularly proud of my photoshoot I did for the Kentwood Junior Reserve Officer Training program. They were having their Marine Corps Ball and wanted a studio setup for portraits of members at the ball. I like this one because the photos came out particularly well and I was proud of the way I set up and ran the lighting and studio.
