Introduction: Wilk Design Workshop (WDW) provides creative solutions for hard to tackle residential and commercial design problems by helping our overwhelmed clients define their goals, filter through the design noise... ultimately delivering to them their dream space. WDW develops our designs using BIM technology and software that creates 3-D intelligent models so our clients have the opportunity to virtually walk through their new space before it becomes a reality. If you appreciate great design, but aren’t quite sure how to execute it - contact us to schedule an on-site consultation. Our 2 hour design consultation starts at $500 and is the perfect way to jumpstart your project without a large time commitment. Wilk Design Workshop FAQ's: 1. How does your process work? We have 3 main project phases that generally work for every project - Research, Design, and Execution. We gain background information to determine what services you need, design a personalized vision for your space, and assist contractors in the construction phase by answering any questions and providing feedback along the way. 2. How much does it cost? We bill hourly at $150/hr. Project fees are dependent on how large and complex your project is. 3. I want to do a large scale gut/ renovation of my house. How much can I expect to pay in design fees and construction costs? While project fees can vary greatly depending on the scope, most projects we work on cost around $250-350/ sq ft for construction costs only. Design fees are typically an additional 10-12% of the construction cost. 4. Why would I hire your team over a draftsman or regular architect? If you know exactly what you want and just need permit plans to submit to a jurisdiction for approvals, we are not the best fit for you. But if you are unclear on where to spend your money, love great design but aren’t sure of the direction you want to take, call us! We provide the most value when working with clients from the beginning concept design of their space through the final punch-list. 5. Do you have contractors or tradespeople in house? No, we partner with reliable, trustworthy contractors in the area to bring the design vision to life. We assist with bidding and negotiation, contractor selection, and construction administration, but we do not pick up the hammers.

Interior Design

She was really efficient at understanding what I was trying to achieve. She submitted a very clear plan for how I could achieve it on my own timeframe and budget. It was extremely helpful to clarify my vision and receive specific direction on how I could execute it without spending a fortune. She also provided resources as suggestions for some of the items, such as draperies. She provided interim and ideal plans for the various aspects of the project. I have already executed a couple of them, and dream of the rest.

This was a unique project with a tight budget and an even tighter timeline. Alison was amazing to work with. Organized in her budget and followed through with her vision and execution! We are VERY pleased with her work and definitely recommend her to anyone who wants a smooth and professional experience.

Couldn’t recommend working with Ali enough! We hired her to update our fireplace and convert it to gas. She came up with a beautiful concept that fit the character of our early 1900’s home and worked with the contractors to make sure the vision was executed to perfection—all within a tight timeframe. Couldn’t be happier with the results and the process. She's now helping us design the rest of the room to go with our beautiful new fireplace :-)

Interior design is not my strength and I was lost. Fortunately, I found Alison on Thumbtack. She walked me through the process, did what I asked her to do (including pushing me out of my comfort zone) and changed my new construction empty house into my home. I would highlight her fee structure which removed the conflicts of interest that plague this industry, and her practicality in finding more expensive furnishings where it made sense and some spectacular work on a budget where it didn't make sense to spend a lot. Thanks A!
