I paid $48 just to be able to speak with this client. She scheduled an appointment for Friday, then cancelled and rescheduled for Monday. I was very accommodating and told her I could perform the cleaning on Monday. My assistant was sick, and since I didn't want to cancel the appointment with this client, I went to do the cleaning myself—alone. Her house was extremely dirty and disorganized. I knew I would end up spending more than five hours there. I maintained the agreed-upon rate of $175 for an initial deep cleaning, which included windows, the refrigerator, the oven, blinds, cobweb removal, baseboards, vacuuming, bathrooms, and the kitchen. I inspected the house beforehand to ensure that I could perform a high-quality cleaning on my own. I told her I was going out to my car to retrieve my cleaning supplies; as soon as I entered her home with my products, she asked to see my driver's license to verify my details. I politely agreed and showed her my license. Immediately afterward, she attempted to take a photograph of my license, at which point I told her that she was not allowed to do that. I did not appreciate her attitude or the way she invaded my privacy; I asked her if she was a police officer, implying that there was no legitimate reason for her to photograph my license. She replied that she was not. I then told her that I felt my privacy had been violated because she had attempted to photograph my license without asking for my permission. I left the premises, and shortly thereafter, she sent me an apology via the app—only to leave a negative review later on.
