I manage a salon in Bellevue and have Power Pup come out regularly now to sanitize my tile floors and carpet in the waiting area. Not only do they truly clean the floors, but they look almost as good as new every time they finish. Given how much foot traffic and wear and tear these floors have, I'm so fortunate to have found this company to keep my business nice and clean. Thank you!!

Scott was on time and efficient and gave me a great quote — didn’t play any pricing games like I’ve had with some carpet cleaners. Friendly and professional — will totally hire him again!

Chris was professional and did a great job cleaning my carpet so I also hired him to do some cleaning in my former rental home that I was preparing to sell. Everything looked great downstairs but the upstairs left a little to be desired. Window sills were not clean like the sills on the main floor. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars

I really needed some help on deep cleaning bathrooms, the kitchen (lots of stainless steel to wipe down, counters), dusting and vacuuming. Lynn and her husband did a wonderful and detailed job for us. They are professional, extremely good at what they do, friendly and courteous. I highly recommend N & A Cleaning Services.

Silvia and her husband are an amazing team. The newly acquired house was a hoarders place. The project was huge! The walls, floors, sinks, skylights, and floors were so dirty, along with terrible pet odor. All was sparkling clean when they were done. They used vinegar and lemon juice on the smell which worked. They bid very low, and were more than happy to pay them what they were worth, which was far above their bid. They stayed until 9:45 pm on the first night. When they were finished, it was sparkling clean. They are sweet people, quietly humble, a true team. If the rating is 5 stars, they would be 10! We will always be grateful, and will call them again and recommend them to all our family and friends. Kimberly & Kelly in Olympia

I had so many companies to choose from, but Lana kept messaging me and so I chose her! She dropped by the next day to look at my house and a team of cleaners did an awesome job on my house. I hired them on a weekly basis and I couldn't be happier!

KBM Northwest came to our house and put in new Crown Moulding, a tile backsplash, a porch remodel, and some other miscellanious finish work. I have never met a contractor that was actually more picky with MY HOUSE than I was. He would take the time to massage a piece of material that I was already 100% satisfied with and work it and work it and work it until it was absolutely perfect to him and he didn't charge me a dime for the difference. It was like he had to sign his name to it for generations to see. I've used countless contractors over the years, and I've never seen anything like it. If anyone can find a better contractor to do a better job at a better price then you have found a sasquatch riding a unicorn carrying a bouquet of four leaf clovers because in my experinece that contractor does not exist. Trust me. I've learned the hardway. KBM Northwest is the best.

Jamila is awesome! First of all, Jamila did all she could to accommodate my changing schedule to clean my townhouse on a move out. She is definitely customer oriented. I couldn't have asked for better customer service. Secondly, the cleaning she provided was genuinely the best I've ever seen, she was meticulous in cleaning every detail and part of my apartment. She also shampooed my carpet and the carpet looked nearly new by the time she was finished and it smelled great as well. I intend on hiring her on a monthly basis as she is so pleasant and hard-working. I highly recommend Jamila, you get an excellent job for a fair price. Rose

Dustin responded to my request for flooring replacement and Tile Installation through Thumbtack. He gave me a estimated quote quickly. He checked into the availability of stock for my tile choice and ordered what I needed to complete the job. Dustin demolished the old tile floor, put new subflooring down and installed the tile. He hauled away the old floor. The price for this job was extremely reasonable. He has great expertise in tile installation. He does beautiful work and most of all, I felt comfortable having him in my home. April

David did a great job on our bathroom. He understood our needs and didn't take short cuts. He had great product knowledge and wasn't intimidated by our desire for epoxy grout on the walls and pebble stone tile floors. He gave great advice and did beautiful work. Totally reliable, trustworthy, and honest.

I had Chris out to my house recently to redo our house. When i say redo, i mean redo. A pipe broke but it was more like a slow leak so when i had my floors rotting out that rippled into walls we decided to redo everything. We had hardwood and tiles put in and they were flawless. I dont know if i can attach pictures but if i can i will. He remodeled our bathroom, our kitchen, and our living room. Remodeled half of our study and my daughters room. I painted the whole interior to get rid of the mold. Insulation and plumbing was done by a sub he recommended but everything turned out flawless. I loved getting updates while i was at work or out of town. Toni sent me pictures of extra work that was going to be involved and asked if i wanted it performed not pressuring me into it. I also appreciate the fact that they worked weekends. I appreciated the fact that they were so courteous of my stuff, covering my clothes when they sanded the drywall in the laundry room, carefully placing my paintings where they would not get broken, etc. At one point, something was cut short, it was a really simple mistake but Chris went and got some more to replace it. I really appreciated their honesty. They did what they said they would do and on time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I loved the fact that they fixed the issues and i loved the fact that they stayed within their estimate even though most of the work was hourly rated. They really increased the value of my home! Call them for repairs or remodeling...

Our white carpet needed cleaning, and we wondered if we could have some tile flooring put in next to a sliding glass door. Najib made the carpet beautiful, and did a very professional job on the tile work. He knows his tile. I would hire him for either carpet or tile. The man knows what he is doing. Fair, honest.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.
