Jewlie is a wonderful and caring petsitter. She has taken care of Jake--picture above--for 12 years now. She has also taken care of our kitty since he joined our home 5 years ago. I love that she has a background as a vet technician and can give medications as well as walking the pets. She is trusted and caring. I would highly recommend her services to anyone!

Kelley walks my dog and takes care of my cat when I'm out of town. She's totally professional, always on time and clearly loves her job and animals. I've recommended her to lots of friends who all love her too!

I work with Denise at Bark & Ride, I also board my 2 dogs with her when I am out of town. My dogs & all the dogs she cares for LOVE her, I trust her implicitly with my dogs, she has double gates at the entrance, a very large play yard (she picks up poop several times a day), the dogs are brought inside a smaller yard next to the house at night, where they can go inside the heated sleeping quarters if they choose. I pick up & take 10 -12 of her dogs to the dog park twice a week, I work closely with all of her clients & they trust her absolutely. The only negative feedback I have ever heard was from a helper that was let go.

So very thankful for Alex and his knowledge about what was best for my dog Lucy. He gave me really workable, sound advice. Lucy is totally responding to his directions. I feel he gave us both tactics to go forward with. Given Lucy, is a high attention dog I am sure we will need him to come back!

I always rest easy knowing that my beloved pet is being given such great care by Shelby while I am away from home traveling for work. She always texts the cutest picture updates which make me smile ( or sometimes laugh if they show my overly affectionate dog is trying to lick her face, LOL ). My pooch clearly adores Shelby, and it is so great having someone that you trust and who you know will give your pet amazing care while you are away from home.

Angelica really cares about our dogs she has made progress with our hardest dog to walk where other people have failed. We have multiple dogs and she takes all of them into consideration. We HIGHLY recommend this person and we like the fact that it’s not all online we can converse with her if not in person at least over messenger

Our lucky dogs have been having walks with Jules for about 2 years and we can't say enough good things about him! His communication is aces, he is highly dependable, committed to the safety and comfort of the dogs and, most of all, he loves the animals dearly. He sends a text on the weekend to confirm schedules, we get pics and an update after each walk and he even includes an update on our indoor cat! Jules is a professional, reliable and conscientious business owner. You can't do better than Jet City Dog Walking!

I originally hired them to start providing dog walks during the week when I cant work from home. The next day after my meet and greet I had an emergency and was called out of town but since my walker had just met Corina I was hesitant to push that on her as well. The company informed me she was able to provide overnight sitting in my home for 5 days. I'm a crazy dog mom and I was a nervous wreck until my husband reminded me we could check on her via our cameras (These cameras are hidden and our sitter was unaware of them). I was pleasantly surprised at the love shown to my dog it was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. My dog usually goes on a night walk with the neighbors dog and my sitter was more than happy to walk them together to keep their routine up. She also received extra walks, played fetch in the backyard, let the neighbors dog come over, and spent extra time at the house during the day. Corina usually exhibits some form of behavioral issues when we go away furniture chewing, door scratching, etc. She didn't destroy anything last week even when the sitter was away during the day. I cant wait for Corina to start her weekly walks and I'm glad we found Paws and Plums. Thank you Ghislaine!

Cassie started walking my dog every day while I'm at work a couple of weeks ago. She's been very reliable and conscientious, and understands dog behavior, so I'm confident my dog is getting a great walk while I'm not there to take her out.

the love i have for dogs. spending time with them. keeping them healthy and good diet. Socializing them with other digs is healthy

I am a pet sitter/walker. I love to play with animals and have had dogs and cats all my life as pets, so I know exactly how to look after them. I'm very loving, and I will keep your pets happy while I am watching them. I am available every day except Saturdays. Feel free to give me a call or text.

I live in my service area so my client know me as their neighbor. My schedule is flexible and my fee is affordable. New clients can try my service for free (30 minutes) with no obligation. I am licensed, insured, and bond, so my client can have a peace of mind that they are in good hand. I love being around animals especially dogs. I love what I do and so lucky to do what I love.

I love dogs. I have two of my own, and I walk them all the time. This job would be the perfect for me.

I am 115% about animals. I always want them happy no anxiety

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

          • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
          • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
          • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
          • What are your different walk routes?
          • When will you pick up and drop off?
          • How will we communicate?
          • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
          • What’s your cancellation policy?
          • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
          • How and how often do I pay you?
          • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
