- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In home personal training: I come to you, bring equipment and we work through your routine): $60/ session approx 30-45 min Online Training: I give direction, create your program and keep you accountable $40/month Skype Sessions: We meed and run through an exercise program via Skype: $15/session - 30 minutes
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always reading and studying. Everything from industry magazines to the latest scientific research on nutrition and exercise science. To maintain my certification for personal training, I'm required to take 16 continuing education credits every 2 years. For my group exercise, I'm required to take 24 every 2 years, so I'm always studying something.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2004 I was 255 pounds and on FMLA because my asthma was so bad I could not leave the house without having an attack. I decided I didn't want to be a prisoner to my health and started working out at home. I used what I had - soup cans for weights, the couch or chair for benches - and did what I could. As the weight started coming off, people started asking me for advice and to help them. I didn't want to give bad or harmful advice, so I decided to go to school and get certified so I could help.
