Sylvia is a true dog whisperer and she has saved our family many times. The first time I was almost in tears because my puppies were fighting all the time and I was afraid I might have to re-home one of them. She calmly told me that all I needed to do was learn how to be the pack leader. She was right! Once the dogs knew my husband and I were in charge, they no longer fought each other for dominance. The next time was when my husband was away in the army and I became too sick to take care of my dogs. My dogs are my babies and I'm so grateful that Sylvia was there to watch over them. She took care of them as if they were her own until I got better and my husband came home. They were so happy and healthy and vibrant when we picked them up. Sylvia has also taught me how to do service dog training with my dog, Ike. Sylvia loves all creatures, human or animal, and has a big heart. She especially reaches out to help veterans and the disabled. There is no one else I would trust more with my family, you can trust her with yours.
We called Martha because our dogs are dog aggressive. Martha worked with both of our dogs with instant results, teaching us how to walk them without pulling on the leash and to ignore the distraction of other barking or aggressive dogs. Everything was tape recorded for us to replay, should we forget. Our Akita has had a "dangerous dog" declaration and she helped us by giving us the name of an animal lawyer, and a reputable person who can give us an evaluation of our dog.
I have been working with Jennifer's co-worker Ana Anderson for about 3 weeks now to get my insecure and dog aggressive pitbull under control.. She was very friendly and professional when she came for the first meeting and to assess my dog.. She was easy going and made both me and my dogs feel comfortable around her. She gave us some basic "homework" to do with him until our next meet up.. and everything she has taught us has been working WONDERS. It's been only 3 weeks and it's like my boy is a completely different dog. I know we have a long way to go to have his issues completely under control, but in just the little time we have been working with Ana, my dog has made a complete turn around. I love working with Ana as well, not because of how knowledgeable she is with what she does, but because she doesn't treat me like just another client.. as if she's only worried about the money. She genuinely cares about you and your dog, and she makes it obvious.. she's answered so many of our questions and has let us bug her all hours of the day with questions and concerns. I have already recommended her to friends with misbehaved dogs and I will continue to do so. I'm excited to see my boy's issues completely resolved, and I will owe it all to Ana at Optimum dog.. these people do great work, I highly recommend
Cindy Wilson is an excellent dog trainer. She even trained my dog to ring the bill to let me know when he wants to go out. I still call her till this day when I have dog training questions. Even though she's now in another state. I highly recommend her services.
Wendy is the best dog trainer by far in this area. Totally legit and amazing what she can do for your dog. I guarantee you won't be disappointed and you will be seriously amazed at the results. Worth every penny!!!
Miss Anderson is WONDERFUL! After being attacked by another dog, I could see that my dog was changing, and wasn't sure what to do. I called and set up an appointment to see Miss Anderson. In our first meetings with her my dog was so aggressive it was scary. By the end of our 2nd meeting she was able to teach me a calm confident and in control dog. My confidence is getting better too! She has showed me and my kids a doggy that i was worried I never would see again. Great prices and Miss Anderson is so wonderful to me and my kids, but to my sweet dog too. Thank you
Where would we be without Lise? We would be a "dogless" home, and our dog's fate would have been difficult to bear. We brought our Norwegian Elkhound mix home from PAWS in February of 2014. There happened to be someone home over the first several weeks of having her in our home, and there were no problems. We fell head over heels in love with her. However, the first time (and every time thereafter)she was left alone she tore through the trash, chewed on the windowsills, and knocked what she could over that was along the wall (for example, my boxes of pictures organized by date), and spread and chewed up the items throughout the house. We tried to crate her. No go. Chewed through and escaped the first two crates, and then tried to chew through the industrial crate we purchased, but only succeeded in cutting her gums and lips and leaving a small pool of blood on the crate floor. (Her bottom teeth are little worn nubs, so she's apparently been a dog to chew out of places for quite some time ~ she is about 9 years old.) We couldn't trust her inside, so we put her out with a thunder jacket on when no one would be home. She chewed through the fence and escaped. We sheet metaled the interior of the fence. She threw her body weight against the gates until they popped open and escaped. We put locks on the gates. She barked incessantly and we bore the wrath of neighbors. At home, she would follow me from room to room, scared to let me out of her sight. We are first time dog owners. Our love bug was a menace. We needed some serious help. Enter Lise. Lise was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She was reliable, trustworthy, sincere, and her love and enthusiasm for her craft is contagious. She was truly empathetic, and, thankfully, reassuring in regards to our problem child. She taught us about the tools of the trade, how to read our dogs behaviors, how to change our dogs behaviors, and how to interact with her in a positive way that would reinforce the training. Lise follows a positive training model, so we never felt as though we had to hurt or deprive our dog to get results. She was very up front about the commitment it would take from us to work with the tools she would give us to help manage our dogs separation anxiety. It was going to take a lot. Over a six week period, Lise would come over once a week to check on the progress of the prior week and to teach us how to move into the next phase in her training for the following week. She would call and /or Skype each week in addition to the visit as well. She also worked in tangent with our veterinarian as part of the process in helping our dog cope with her separation anxiety. Because our dog was extremely dog aggressive as well, Lise taught us how to muzzle train her. She doesnt like wearing it, but now allows us to put it on with no problems and doesnt make a fuss. Slowly, but surely, we began to see improvements. We would have setbacks, but definitely were moving into a manageable situation. Today, we are in a totally different place from where we were when we brought our dog home seven months ago, and before our 6 week training program with Lise. I can go to work for the day and not have to worry (too much) about what shes doing at home. She is able to stay in the house with a doggy door access outside without any problems (as long as I put the cat food up, make sure not to leave any food on the counters, and shut the trash cans away in the bathroom). Its unbelievable! If it were not for Lises patience, understanding, never give up attitude, and help in training our 9 year old pup to manage her anxiety, we would have been in deep, deep trouble (no shelters would have ever taken her as she is on record for attacking another dog). She saved us a lot of heartache. She is a wonderful dog trainer who I cant recommend strongly enough. She truly wants the dog and the family to succeed. What she did in my home with our dog is nothing short of a miracle!
We just had our consultation with Shawna about our dog's aggression issues. She had some great insight on what is causing the issues, and gave us some things to work on at home until our next session. After meeting with her, my husband and I are confident that she can help correct this behavior. I highly recommend Shawna to anyone looking for a calm, straight forward, and practical approach to dog training.
Jevry is an outstanding dog trainer. She is very patient, clear with commands and knowledgeable. My dog instantly responded to her training techniques and she helped me get a very reactive dog under control. I highly recommend K9 Command.
OMG- GREAT! Cheryl was the third trainer for my dog. 1st trainer: Said my dog was aggressive and would not work with him until put in 3 weeks of work. 2nd trainer: said my dog was reactive, was willing to work with me, however was on travel for 6 weeks. Cheryl: day one (eval) was growled at by my dog- but was super duper patience and was able to PET him by the end of the session! We started with 4 personal sessions for me and my dog (to keep everyone safe and be smart). Two session in - I was able to move to classes! We are have passed obedience level 1 and are now on to obedience 2 and agility and still WOW! I have an awesome dog that I am proud of. Also, I am a better paw-rent for the training i have received. I shopped around for trainer-- learn from me and go with the Zoom Room!!
Jacqui was asked to jump into a very difficult situation and she was absolutely marvelous. I watched Jacqui train four dogs for a commercial shoot, in which, she had very little time to prepare and time was of the essence. It was a complete success! Jacqui has a confident demeanor and knows how to work with animals proficiently. With over 6 years of experience, I can't think of a better trainer for our commercial shoot. Jacqui is kind and respectful and was the lynchpin in ensuring the success of our shoot and ultimately our commercial spot. We could not have done it without her. If you need your dog trained, call her right now! You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Jacqui for all of your help! I will be calling you again, when my director tells me that our talent is a bunch of pooches. You rock!
Isis walks our two Saint Bernards twice a week for us. She is always there, communicates if there will be a change in time or a change in dates. She is accommodating when we have changes. My dogs LOVE Isis and view her as a treat to their week. Isis also helps us be better doggie parents with training tips. One of our Saints is aggressive to smaller dogs and some people and Isis always has her under control and she is behaving better when we walk her. I can not say enough good things about her, we have used her services for over a year now and will continue to do so till our dogs pass away.
It was obvious from the first visit that Daphne knew what she was doing and is also very much a dog person. We saw immediate results in our dogs behavior, and they seemed to enjoy the training sessions as well. After 4 visits, we feel confidant that the training and education provided will allow us to easily continue the work to achieve the full results we want. Daphne was also very pleasant to work with, and provided a great deal of additional material for our education as well.
Nea is absolutely amazing! She is doing an amazing job training our German Shepherd as well us teaching US how to keep up on his training. She doesn't just train your dog, she has SO much knowledge about common problems with breeds, how to deal with problems a dog has and dog nutrition and what is best for them. I very strongly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to train there dog!
J.P. is a fantastic trainer. Unlike most other trainers, he has a firm grasp on dog personality and will help you to thoroughly understand your dogs way of thinking. Once you understand how the dog thinks, it will allow you to get the dog to do what you need it to do. As long as you follow J.P.'s lesson plan and advice, you will se a whole new dog. J.P. doesnt change or train your dog, he trains you as a dog owner. Worth every last dollar. You will be amazed at the results.
We have a 4 year old German Shepherd Dog, Lila, that is a perpetual puppy--extremely high energy and playful. We were having a lot of issues while out walking or hiking with her because of constant pulling and leash reactivity around other dogs. We found Julie and were immediately impressed with her resume of handling large dogs (Malamutes) and training them through positive reinforcement. Julie has been full of valuable tips and strategies that have focused on positive reinforcement, repetition, and the gradual increase of distractions when training. After several sessions and lots of practice in the neighborhood, we are really starting to see results. Taking Lila out for a stroll is now much more pleasant and manageable. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Julie and would absolutely recommend her!
Carol at Northwest Dog Retreat is truly exceptional. I adopted a small dog from an animal shelter and was extremely overwhelmed in the beginning when I first began to discover some of his behavioral issues. As a first time dog owner, I was unsure how to deal with his fears and also my own. I knew I was not equipped to train a dog with fears and aggressions on my own and I was thankful to have been able to find Carol at Northwest Dog Retreat. Carol really took the time to listen to me and my concerns, and with her knowledge, help and guidance, Bruno has totally turned around and is more outgoing and expressive than ever. She is caring, intuitive and truly has a special way with animals. She has given me tools, tips and support through out the process and I am so grateful to have met her! Not only does she help with behavioral training in her own home and well as public arenas, she has boarding and the retreat location is beautiful! Plenty of space for dogs to run and play and enjoy. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Her true passion sets her apart from the others. Thank you Carol!
I have worked with other dog trainers but Jeff goes so much further than most. He gave our border terrier the chance she needed and all our lives are so much the better for it.
Cameron is an awesome dog trainer! He took my concerns seriously and gave me hope when I thought my dog could not be trained and the problems couldn't be fixed. He was very professional and explained everything thoroughly and made sure I was comfortable with what I was doing. He is a great teacher and worked wonders with my dog! I highly recommend him!!!!
Phenomenal trainer! Great at helping animals with behavioral problems or if you just want to teach your dog to sit and stay he can do that too. He has been able to make aggressive animals adoptable and trained many animals for television roles.
I am a certified dog trainer. I am a graduate of the animal behavioral college. I have had my own business since 2007.
