We had a great experience with Travis from A1 Home Improvement for our basement renovation. His work included drywall fixing, building a new partition wall, painting, and installing new baseboards, all executed with very high quality. We especially appreciated his reliability; he was very punctual on all start and end times and maintained great communication throughout.

Travis is the “go to” man you’ve always looked for and figured you’d never find. Communication: he lets you know when he’s coming. And then shows up. Task completion: shows up every day until the job is done. The unexpected: he asks how you want to handle surprises. Fix it or not, explaining the how and why. (Discovered and repaired rotting stair stringers on a second deck just from walking on it). Value in terms of dollars: no idea, because no one else was reliable enough to compare. It seemed fair and reasonable. The work over several weeks: level a sinking deck due to erosion creating a system to prevent future erosion, replace rotting stringers on stairs; level a free standing shed that was shifting due to erosion, building concrete footings and replacing rotting siding; repaired a crawl space door chewed by rodents… Knowledge: he’s experienced but is quick to tell you what is beyond his abilities and what he feels able and willing to learn. He readily uses other trades people for guidance on best practice. We built and have lived in our home 35 years, working through a room addition and multiple small and large projects. We’ve worked with a lot of contractors. Travis is one of the best.

Travis and his crew were extremely knowledgeable in how best to repair the rotting siding . While doing the repairs other problems were exposed ant infestation in a portion of the wall, and a water leak. Travis kept me well informed throughout the repairs so there wasn't any surprises when it came time to settle up. I have no problem referring A1 Home improvement to my family and friends.
