Thumbtack emailed a quote within 1 hour of my request. Jarrod, of Good Hands Dependable Services provided his phone number with his bid; I called to arrange a date for the couch and woodscraps to be hauled. He suggested immediately (it was already O-dark:30), and he arrived within 10 minutes of his forecast. He is a responsive and literate communicator, fair priced, timely and efficient; not to overlook clean-cut, proper work clothes, and appropriatelly equipped vehicle. I do not know how Thumbtack is vetting contractors but this is my third good experience, keep doing it.

My recommendation for Corey is unconditional. He began his first project with us in March of this year when when a friend recommended that he would be good help since I needed to get everything off of two decks in preparation for resurfacing. There were big old terracotta pots full of hard packed soil and the upper deck was up 3 stories. Corey figured out how to do this efficiently and kept up a brisk pace. Once the decks were finished he carried the new pots and all of the soil and new plants back up. Corey was careful to check in with me on coordination so that he could be back as soon as the deck was ready. Our next project was cleaning out the side yard including an old fence, construction debris from the project next door and overgrown plantings and material to go to hazardous waste dump. Corey was quick and organized, set up a system for sorting and brought a helper and huge truck to dispose of the stuff. Over the years I have tried to clean up this area but the project seemed overwhelming and no one knew how to attack it. Our house on Queen Anne Hill is 100 years old and there is always something that needs to be done. Corey has a key and I keep a list so he stops by when needed and takes care of things. A special recommendation for Corey is that my dog loves him and she is a very good judge of character.

Amin did an awesome job installing all my kitchen appliances like Subzero refrigerator, wine cooler and Miele wall oven etc. He is easy to work with, very skillful and detailed in his work. He is resourceful and always able to come out with solution when problems occurred. He is prompt in respond and listen to what you want. I definitely would use him again for future projects and would recommend him to anyone.

We initially called Mogi in to fix several electrical problems and then expanded the scope to installing recessed lighting and ultimately redoing the entire bathroom! We got over 5 quotes for the work and his came in the lowest and seemed more trustworthy than the others. We are glad we chose him to do the work. He did a great job and met the quoted completion time even though we made changes and added more work. We have never met or dealt with a contractor with this level of integrity, honesty, and quality of work. We will definitely hire him again.

Jorge did a great job fixing a crack in my living room wall that has continued to re-appear over the last few years. He removed a section of drywall and created the necessary gap (where the crack had previously returned a few times within a week of repairing), and the wall looks great. I was really impressed with his ability to apply texture and make the repaired area match the rest of the wall. Jorge is a really personable guy and a hard working family man. He definitely won my vote.

My first time using Thumbtack and Travis' services and I was so happy with the end results. Travis mounted a TV to a wall in my home. The mount was a little tricky and Travis was extremely patient and it looked great when finished. I highly recommend Travis. His rate was by far the best, he was incredibly friendly, and he did an amazing job. If I have another chance to use Travis' help, I'm definitely calling him up.

Jose did excellent work. He quoted a good price, arrived on time and the wall now looks brand new. I'm getting ready to hire him again for another job.

Dennis did an incredible job and we would definitely hire him again. He was a pleasure to work with, very responsive, and was very knowledgeable about the project. We hired him to build a concrete foundation and assemble a shed, and the finished product looks excellent.

We have been working with Jose and his team for over two years. Our first project was an install of a wall mounted rack for a home gym. On the morning of the project, it snowed six inches. Despite the weather and the challenges of getting up our hill, he arrived on time. We then lost power and went to Costco to buy a backup generator. He helped us get our backup generator running quickly to make sure the sump pump could continue to run. He then attached his tools to the generator and continued to work on the gym install. We have hired him numerous times since for framing, drywall, painting and other odd jobs such as the install of Nest smoke detectors. He has met and exceeded expectations with every task. At our recommendation, Jose has done work for family members and friends including roof repair, shower drain repair, and a bathroom remodel. We look forward to working with Jose in the future.

Robert mounted my very large and heavy headboard to the wall. It involved trimming some wood off the headboard then affixing a bracket to the wall then attaching the headboard to the bracket. Getting the measurements correct and having the bracket level were critical with very little room for error. Everything went perfectly. I'm very happy with the work and will definitely use Robert again.

Cedo was great to work with and did an excellent job tiling floors, building / tiling a custom shower and adding old bricks masonry onto an interior wall. He is extremely professional and goes to great lengths to make sure the work is as perfect as possible given the construction site conditions. My remodel turned out to be challenging because of the walls not being straight and the brick wall being very time consuming, but he was very gracious about any unforeseen obstacles and worked extremely hard to get the project finished. He was a very valuable thought partner each step of the way, and I ended up extending the original scope to include installing a backsplash, doors and trim. The end result looks spectacular and i would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Prestige Gardens and his owner Cully deserves my highest recommendation for the following reasons - Ownership: Cully owned the project to deliver on time and with quality Engagement: He kept me fully transparent of the progress and engaged me to suggest changes and even ask opinions on choice of materials. Quest for Quality: He looked around and identified the few things that he would like to do to ensure overall bigger value. He trimmed my backyard trees to the right size even when it was not in scope. He also indicated his displeasure on a few overgrown vegetation in my front yard (totally unrelated work) and offered to trim them without bothering for extra money. Timeliness: Our original estimate was within 7 to 10 days, he completed in 7 days. Proper closure: Post project during the walkthrough we identified a few gaps. While some were by myself, a few were noted by him. With trust, I paid him the second and the last payment but he did appear again a few days later to close the gaps. This included buying some extra materials (pavers, glues, sand) as well as labor. Professionalism: He is the only person amongst 6 other contractors I talked to, who provided me a proper hand drawn sketch with exact sizes, and a detailed breakdown of the cost. His talk and all dealings were sincere and professional. He and his crew were meticulous and hard working. Can work in uncertainties: Our project included dismantling a deck and we were not sure of the ground below it. With certain assumptions we came up with the original estimate. After dismantling the deck, we found that there was hard concrete below and big roots under the soil and concrete. This needed extra work and material. He discussed with me the contingency plans but kept costs in control and did not charge me an extra penny.

Seth does good work. Our only issue that came up on our project was staying to the original quote. Be certain he has a good handle on how long the job will take and try and get a set number of hours specified in the quote. Otherwise the hourly begins to run over what is quoted by even more than is customary. The best suggestion is to ask that he quote it as a flat rate to avoid the job going over. As a contractor, he is knowledgable and helpful with suggestions and we were happy with the finished project.

Chris and Joe are a couple honest, hard working guys who want to leave you happy with their final product. When I initiated communication with them via the app, they quickly responded and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. We had multiple dry wall cracks in our house. They guaranteed a complete fix of the cracks, vs. a quick patch job, which what was done previously and the reason why it re-cracked. When providing the quote, they were clear that they don't choose the paint and leave that up to the owner to provide. Now I know why. I had to get multiple paints custom mixed at Lowes and none of they were a perfect match. This meant there was a visible difference on the paint over the crack fix vs. the rest of the wall. With that said, my one takeaway is to just let these guys quote for a complete paint job over the wall affected. It will be slightly more pricey, but look at lot better. Don't know a lot about paint? Express that to the guys and they will guide you in what type of paint to get! Trust them, they aren't trying to upsell you, only recommending what will look best. We ended up making optimizations to our dry wall project while it was going on, but it would have been a smoother and quicker process if we had agreed to a more comprehensive quote from the very beginning. I'm pleased with the work done and they were very respectful about keeping things tidy and leaving the house looking as it was before (meticulous hanging of plastic, masking, sweeping, and returning items as they were). One item I want to particularly applaud them on is how receptive they were to my questions and candid feedback. They have integrity in their work and genuinely want to leave the customer satisfied. They guaranteed their work and encouraged me to reach out if there was any issues.

Kriss and his associate did a great job for me (curtain rods and tv wall mount installation). They were very professional and quick with their work, and the quality of work was also really good. I would definitely hire them again for any future projects and would highly recommend them!

Jared from Precision remodel installed a retaining wall, patio and walkway in my backyard. He also installed hardwood flooring and new finish trim in my kitchen and living room. He was very curtious, finished on time and always cleaned up after himself. I am very pleased and have recommended him to other friends.

I received quotes from at least a dozen people for my cedar siding re-staining. The range went anywhere between $1,300 to $13,000 and it left me frustrated as to who to trust. It was a specialized job but it was clear after talking to some of the contractors that they haven't done this kind of work before. It was refreshing to meet Byron and have him review the work. He offered valuable insights and it was clear he knew what he is talking about. His price was fair - it wasn't the lowest, but I had peace of mind knowing I hired the right contractor for the job. He communicated well leading up to the job. He was transparent about the materials he was going to use, the type of technique he would be using etc and that assured us of the quality of materials and work. He answered any questions we had. The job was completed within the estimated time frame. And the results were beautiful. I would not hesitate to hire the Art of Painting for any painting or restoration needs.

Tim and his crew did an excellent job on my sheet rock, drywall, and texture. There was extensive water damage to my house and it was a disaster, but it looks better now than it did before the damage! They did a great job covering floors and putting up plastic barriers to keep the mess contained, and cleaned everything up to perfection. The actual drywall and texturing job was done masterfully and once they started the project they stuck with it until it was completed. Tim did a fantastic job with communication and responded almost always within minutes of my messages. That has not been my experience with any other contractor! I would highly recommend Able Drywall.
