Thumbtack emailed a quote within 1 hour of my request. Jarrod, of Good Hands Dependable Services provided his phone number with his bid; I called to arrange a date for the couch and woodscraps to be hauled. He suggested immediately (it was already O-dark:30), and he arrived within 10 minutes of his forecast. He is a responsive and literate communicator, fair priced, timely and efficient; not to overlook clean-cut, proper work clothes, and appropriatelly equipped vehicle. I do not know how Thumbtack is vetting contractors but this is my third good experience, keep doing it.
Nolan gave us a very reasonable quote for mounting a 65" TV over our fireplace. He even brought along a mount which he showed us was far superior to the somewhat flimsy one we had purchased at Sams and will be returning tomorrow. He showed us the mount's price on Best Buy's website and charged us the same amount. Due to the chimney area, and/or some other construction aspect of our 1980's era condo , it was not a straight forward job. I'm so glad I didn't try to do this myself. Overcoming the obstacle, Nolan spent extra time making sure the mount was solidly attached and that the TV was perfectly level. He had even brought along and installed a cordmate kit (which he sold to us at his cost) to conceal the wires running to our various devices. I was pleasantly surprised that he stuck with his original quote for labor which Im sure was based on considerably less time than he actually spent on our project. Thank you Nolan! We even talked about hiring him for a couple future projects.
We had a roof leak that Brian and Paul traced back to it's source and fixed it. They were both professional friendly and pleasant to work with. At no point did Brian try to sell me on replacing the roof or a large swath of it as many other contractors do. I would totally recommend B&M and if I had another issue would definitely use them again.
Axel is a good young contractor that owned up to his reputation. On a personal level he was courteous and kind. Like all contractors, he gets busy and getting to the job on time is challenging, but he came through in the end. Thanks Axel!
The Yard Guy gave me a response almost immediately on line, and called to schedule an appointment within the half hour. Came to my home, gave me a quote and was able to get the work done within a few hours. He was very nice, very professional and I'm happy knowing I have found a new contractor I will be using again and referring to others. His work was great!
If I could give Bob 100 stars I would. His workmanship, skills attention to detail and professionalism is superior. He replaced all my floor trim and door trim that was done incorrectly by another contractor and he also fixed all my door jams that were short due to new flooring I had installed. He also reset my doors Which were not properly aligned and painted my walls. I will definitely hire him for any other projects I have in the future .
I highly recommend Anthony and his team! We needed a very last minute floor installation and they really went the extra mile on our project. Anthony came out to give an estimate where he let us know all the costs up front and the estimated time. While ripping up some of the old floor they found an ant infestation. Not only did they inform us right away, they took care of the issue and guided us on next steps. They did all of this without any extra charge. They took a lot of time to answer all of my questions and did exceptional work! I will definitely be hiring Anthony for future projects!
The owner did a great job installing our wood floors and our back splash! He was very professional and even willing to go the extra mile on some detailed work. It's so hard to find a quality contractor who values the customer's satisfaction like Igor. I highly recommend!!
Alfred work on a big remodel, project for us. He did drywall repair, texturing, painting, replaced doors and trim. He is very conscientious and works hard. The project turned out great. I will use Alfred again if I have another project. Thanks Alfred for all the hard work and an excellent job. Ruth
Robert, owner of Hawaiian Construction, is amazing. Our townhouse had (what turned out to be) a long-standing roof leak which we only found out about because of a water spot on our LR wall/ceiling. Our association had folks out to tear out part of our wall and ceiling and fix the roof. Then they had 2 bidders come out for the recon work. Robert was the 3rd bidder - and the first to mention that there was obvious water damage at the base of the wall and probably mold behind it. For the next 2-3 months we fought with our association to get mold testing done, with Robert on our side telling us what the association should be doing. Finally the association relented, did the mold test...and we found mold up and down the wall. Without Robert's constant insistence and help, our association would have just sealed up the wall with the mold in it. As to the recon work, Robert insisted that painting just the ceiling and the 2 walls affected by the mold mitigation would not be enough. None of the inside walls had been painted in 13 years and he said (and many others have since agreed) that the other walls would not match the newly painted ones, even if using computerized paint matching. His quote called for all the walls in the "line of sight" to be painted, which ended up being about 2/3 of the house. His bid ended up being lower than the one the association got from a different contractor to just paint the ceiling and 2 walls!!! Robert and his team did a tremendous job on the recon work itself. They finished earlier than expected, did some extra work we asked for at a very good price, and did a better job than we could have hoped. Robert is simply a quality person. Every step of the way he only wanted us to get quality work done, regardless of who ultimately did the work. Probably 10 or 12 times during the bidding process he said "Write this down - make sure that whoever does the work does it thus and so way, otherwise you're going to have issues later on." His focus was always on doing things the right way. He's incredibly honest and candid - he'll tell you what needs to be done, but always in a way that let's you know he cares about you and getting the job done right. Robert and his wife Julie have been an absolute dream to work with. Any future work we need done, he'll be the first one we call. And I would recommend him and his company to any and everyone.
I did hire these contractors and they did a great job for me. Had a bathroom up dated and they came in very professional, things were done in a timely matter. This is a father and son team that knows the business. I will be having future work to be done and hope these folks will do it for me. This team is my new go to place to call when I have projects. Thanks again guys you were great
My husband and I hired Jim and his crew at Emerald City Construction Services to build our deck off the back of the house. Jim came in and assessed our project and advised us on specific product and gave us a more than fair bid for our project. We did hire him, Jim and his crew came in the first day they had prep, framing for the deck and almost half of the top of the deck laid. They finished it up the next day complete through clean up. They were fast proficient, and professional. My husband and I are now discussing a bathroom project that we will have Jim come in and bid for us, and will hire him on that project as well. Thanks Emerald City Construction Services
The contractor did awesome prep the floor for the tile flooring. We will have him do more work on our properties.
Roofs are key, especially in this environment. R&R did a great job and took care of little things that weren't necessary but made the finished product better. It was a great experience and I would recommend this business to anyone wanting a metal roof.
Chris was great and responsive. He even went to Lowe’s to find the right tool he needed to complete our job. He was quick too and had a ton of his own tools and equipment. We will def be using him again in the future. Thank you.
Eric went above and beyond to build new walls in my basement so that it could be divided into two functional bedrooms with closets. He had great ideas for design and cost saving alternatives. The work included but was not limited to planning, design, framing, electrical, and drywall (hanging sheets to texture).
As a professional home stager, I am often asked for contractor referrals by my customers. Lief is always the first person I call. I know he has the experience to complete a wide range of projects, always on time and at a fair price. Lief is courteous, prompt, and reliable. Highly recommend.
My builder for life The people at Fine Design Build are part craftsman, part artist, part magician. I learned the hard way, courtesy of my previous builder, that you need all three qualities in your contractor. Most builders, quite frankly, operate with only one or two of those qualities - and then only in varying degrees of goodness. Like a two-legged stool, it shows in the results. If you want it done right- and not only right, but beyond what you might ask or imagine - I can't imagine a better choice than Fine Design Build. As I write this review, we're finishing up the remedial work on what passes for "industry standard" (right!, Industry standard is a code term for shoddy workmanship, inferior materials, crooked walls, bad ergonomic design, squeaky subfloors, poor paint work, bad excavation, and so on), and I am amazed that they have made some pretty challenging projects look like they were done right the first time- as originally intended! Considering what they had to work with (so-called industry standard), its incredible really. That's where the magician part comes in. With future big projects planned (a shop/barn and a timber frame home), it is comforting to know I have found a builder for life. I only wish I knew Fine Design Build before I got started on this cottage - you know, the one built to industry standards. If this review sounds a bit over the top, it's only because the results are over the top - results that have swung me from utterly frustrated to completely overjoyed.
Chris has been very professional, prompt and his quality of work has been the best. We are in the middle of a major bath remodel and he has fine an outstanding job with framing, plumbing and window replacement. We will continue to use his services
Top quality service with reasonable prices, he helped us remodel our kitchen and bathroom. He saved us quite bit of money with good suggestions and not fixing stuff that’s not broken unlike other contractors who create more work. I’d hire him again for any project, he is versatile and knows his stuff.
Wow! Accel Builders truly embody quality of craftsmanship, unwavering work ethics, with unparalleled customer service! We've had the pleasure of having Kira, Adolfo and their team work on my home for the past 6 months, and we're continuously impressed. We had several challenging problems. One in particularly, we consulted with couple other contractors and were dismally left with little hope left, after being told the issue could not be fixed without a massive overhaul - changing the framing of the house. They were able to tackled it beautifully, coming up with innovative and creative solutions restoring my faith. And they continued that with all the problems we had. They earned my utmost confidence in their ability to delivery, and I didn't feel there was any problem they couldn't resolve. They always take the time to understand my requirements and ensured the work was delivered to ensure my satisfaction. They really took care of our family's home and of us, and in the process became friends our family. We really enjoyed having them around. Their communication and professionalism is excellent. They made sure to keep me informed throughout the process, followed through on their commitments, and very responsive. We'll be using them again in a heartbeat for our future projects. My only reservation with recommending them is that they'll get too busy to work on out projects. :)
