- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I constantly improve myself by participating in seminars, taking trainings, follow professional journals, articles, etc. Among many trainings I have attended, I enjoyed the most the following: EMDR Basic Training Neuroscience for Clinicians: Brain Change for Stress, Anxiety, Trauma, Moods and Substance Abuse The Evolution of Psychotherapy with focus on trauma and recovery Faculty: Gottmans, S. - How did you get started doing this type of work?
From the earliest age I was a confidant and adviser to my friends and their friends and relatives. I realized that I have empathy and understanding for peoples' distress and suffering and I am capable to be present and help.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Working with individuals, couples, and families; children, adolescents and adults Providing comprehensive outpatient counseling to address issues such as relationship issues, multicultural challenges, trauma and secondary trauma recovery, and self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, career or academic performance, parenting struggle and personal growth. Conducting training workshops for parents and teachers on various topics related to Biopsychosocial Development and Social-emotional learning, Biopsychosocial development and Social medias at group age 3-5, 6-10 and 11-13. Workshops focus on psychoeducation, coping strategies and practical tips for parents and teachers. Accomplishments: Helped children 6-16 to improve problem solving and relationships with peers and to decrease behavioral issues. Helped adolescent clients to decrease self-harm behavior; improved communication effectiveness with couples. Therapy model use: psycho-education, EMDR, DBT, CBT, Socratic dialog, biopsychosocial approach, strength based therapy, supportive therapy, active listening, empathy, emotion validation, and culturally sensitive approach
