Introduction: In approaching mathematics through an analytic philosophy lens, I break math down into its most basic and fundamental parts: the 'plain language' foundation for the symbols and equations that are used to solve problems. This level of understanding is the product of years of classes and independent study, and offers an approach that, I believe, maximizes results. Providing 'aha!' moments. I love it when a student gets a major concept that has befuddled them for a long time, opening up a whole new window to learning.

Bryan is an amazing, inspirational coach. He was incredibly positive, supportive, and patient with the boys. Looking for creative ways to inspire each one individually. I look forward to continuing to work with him and highly recommend him. With his skills I think he will be an amazing tutor!

Bryan coached our 5th grade boys basketball team. He is a fantastic coach and mentor of young people. He focused on mastering the fundamentals. He is patient and interested in bringing each child along to be their personal best.

I was very impressed when Bryan was basketball coach of my son. He was so passionate on the coaching. He made very detailed training plan. He sent out the summaries after the training and games. The parents can know the progress from the those detailed mails. He gave everyone the chances to grow. My son was always encouraged by Bryan though he was very new to the basketball. He started to love this game after Bryan's coaching. He was so lucky to have Bryan as the coach. Hope Bryan can join as coach next year.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I struggled mightily through much of 8th grade algebra. But I had a fantastic teacher who stayed 3 hours after the end of the school-day to help students with questions. Without her frequent help, I would have been lost in math going forward. Instead, it eventually 'clicked' for me, leading to great success in my future math endeavors, to the point where I now do Calculus for fun!

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

This is my initial foray into tutoring, but I just finished coaching a 5th grade boys' basketball team. Not only was it spectacularly fun, but the parents told me at the end of the season that their sons had enjoyed the season tremendously and that it was "the most outstanding coaching experience we've ever had." As a first-year coach, that felt really good. I am hoping to be equally adept as a new tutor!
