I install both permanent architectural lighting and traditional Christmas lights, with a strong focus on clean lines, secure mounting, and making the installation look like it belongs on the house — not like something was simply attached to it. For permanent lighting systems, I take the time to plan the layout around the architecture of the home. Wiring is kept as hidden as possible, transitions are handled cleanly, and lights are mounted with consistent spacing for an even look across the roofline. Depending on the house and the system, I can also use custom mounting panels under the eaves for a more finished, low-profile installation. I also install traditional seasonal Christmas lights, including rooflines, peaks, and other exterior areas. I don’t pressure wash asphalt shingles or aggressively scrape them just to make a roof look clean in one day. My approach follows industry best practices and ARMA guidance: remove heavy buildup carefully when necessary, then use a low-pressure treatment to kill the remaining moss and organic growth without unnecessarily wearing away the protective granules of the shingles. For heavily overgrown roofs, I normally use a two-step process: careful manual removal of larger moss buildup followed by a professional soft wash treatment. Once the roof is brought back under control, regular treatment can usually keep it that way without repeated scraping.
