I had a major leak that had run through three floors of my townhome. After mitigation was completed, I contacted DH1 for an assessment.
Dwain was quick to schedule a visit and collect data to put together an estimate. When he was onsite he asked questions about how I’d like repairs to happen. He offered me options and discussed tradeoffs, and offered me his own opinion when I asked. Dwain made sure that the quote was written so that the insurance company wouldn’t have any difficulty approving my claims.
He also asked if I’d be open to doing additional repairs, beyond the water damage repair. This was probably what I was most nervous about, but Dwain didn’t push any services on me. Again, he offered his recommendations based on experience, and then showed me a few price options. This collaborative approach made me feel comfortable with the discussion.
When I had to postpone the start date, Dwain was flexible about timing. Once the work began, he updated me daily when I was onsite, and gave me a high-level overview of the work whenever I wasn’t onsite. Whenever I asked for specific updates, he was very attentive with my questions, and made sure I knew about the timeline if it shifted. Just like the planning process, when we needed to make decisions, Dwain presented me with options and made sure I knew about my choices before we went forward.
During the final walkthrough it was clear that Dwain was proud to show the finished product, and wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Again, this was a great experience, and I’m very glad that I went with DH1.

Initially reached out to Dwain for a deck repair. Ended up working on 2 projects: deck repair and egress window. Dwain and his team was professional and punctual. We’re not the cheapest, and that’s intentional. We price our work to do it right, proper materials, skilled labor, and no shortcuts. You get a clear scope, reliable scheduling, and a finished product that lasts. We also handle changes the right way, with written approval so there are no surprises.
