FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For typical projects like door replacement, decks, painting, drywall, trim, etc, I usually bid the project. Other projects with lots of variables such as siding repair, water leak repair, rot repair, or highly custom projects I will usually bill it as time and materials after we come to an agreement on budget and expectations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a detailed phone call or email thread to start things off. If it seems like it could be a good fit then I will visit your job site or home to take a deeper look, take measurements, pictures, etc... At this point I will most likely have enough information to present a ballpark cost. If this ballpark works for you then we can move forward to make detailed decisions and come to a final const agreement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have five years experience working for a deck builder, six years working as a full time carpenter, over two years working as a bags-on superintendent for a high end builder, and two years experience owning my own company as well as performing all of the work. Aside from this I have done countless jobs as side-work alongside working for all of my previous employers. I nearly always ended up in a leadership or management role anywhere I worked.
