- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Of course you'll want to make sure there is compatability and a personal connection between your provider, your dog and yourself. Beyond that, the basics are Licensed, Insured & Bonded, as well as Certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. Going beyond the basics, look for providers who have put more resources and investment in education and equipment. You can also ask to look at the more detailed aspects of insurance policy coverages and deductibles. Since most people don't think to ask about insurance details, a well/properly insured provider shows thoughtfulness and an unwillingness to skimp. Volunteer work is also good. Lastly, ask for references from dog owners who have had intimate long term care from the provider in the past.
