Introduction: We use years of experience to match a dog's exercise to their natural drives. We use GPS verification to give clients piece of mind. We are active in the community giving a portion of all profits to animal related charities. Zen Dog Walking started as a service for dogs that fall through the traditional pet care cracks. Working with dogs that can't frequent a daycare or socialize with others in a normal setting, providing them what they need to be happy and healthy is always deeply rewarding.

Jaxson is a small mixed-breed rescue dog that stole my heart when he came to live with me four months ago. Matthew has worked with Jaxson at our local doggie daycare each week during that time, and has spent nearly every day with him for the past month. Jaxson's playful personality and inquisitive nature have blossomed as a direct result of his time spent with Matthew, and his confidence continues to soar because of Matthew's consistent care, attention, and dedication. In addition to helping Jaxson feel safe and secure in stimulating and overwhelming environment, Matthew has skillfully encouraged Jaxson to overcome his nervousness and successfully interact with humans and other dogs. Jaxson is truly his best self when he is in Matthew's company! Perhaps most importantly, Matthew has increased my own confidence as a dog owner - normalizing many of my fears and worries, sharing in the wonder of dog companionship, and offering competent and sound advice. Matthew has helped me become more attuned to my amazing dog, and my relationship with Jaxson has grown even more special. We have benefited immeasurably by having Matthew in our life!

I first met Matt when he was training at Downtown Dog Lounge in Seattle. He's a flat-out awesome dog trainer who shows genuine love (sometimes tough love) and care with each pooch he works with. Our Puggle Little Bear loved hanging with him at daycare, and eventually we had Matt housesit for us to watch Little Bear and routine dog walks while we lived in Seattle. I have never trusted anyone with Little Bear more than Matthe's fantastic!

I've known Matthew for several years through the Dog Lounge. He's an excellent trainer. His love for dogs and natural skill with dogs are evident within minutes of introducing him to any dog. My little creature can be skittish, but Matthew is so great with his special needs. He's able to help with behavioral issues and training, too. I'd highly recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a dog walker.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our initial evaluation is free and is a great opportunity for us, the client, and their dog to get to know each other before services begin. Following the evaluation the first five walks are offered at half price, this gives our clients the chance to feel us out with little obligation. Other discounts are available based on individual situations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our walkers are required to keep up to date on their Pet CPR/First Aid Certification.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been around dogs my entire life. It was a natural transition that suited my personality: leaving a posh Silicon Valley cubicle to roll around with a bunch of dogs.
