Hello, and thank you for taking the time to view this! I have been playing guitar for most of my life and have been teaching music - from beginner, to very advanced levels - for over 25 years now. I love showing people how easy it is to learn to play, I'm very patient and I like to use each student's personal musical interests and preferences to teach. I don't have a set step-by-step approach; I structure each lesson specifically to each separate student, taking into account their unique musical goals, and how they like to learn. I want you to enjoy learning and playing guitar. I want you to feel that you're improving, not just that you're taking lessons. I'm happy to provide current student references upon request.

I recently started guitarlessons with Jacob. I've tried to self-teach multiple times in the past but decided I needed a professional to get me beyond the walls I always hit. Jacob responded to my query quickly & got me started with a program that he is customizing to my goals. I appeciate that at the beginning & end of each lesson he confirms my comfort level & that he is matching the lessons to my goals. In addition to keeping the lessons fun, Jacob has been very responsive when I've had questions between lessons.

I've only had a few lessons with Jacob so far but it has been great! I appreciate that he is willing to work with me on songs that I want to learn. Scheduling with him has been easy and flexible which is very important to me! He has a very easy going nature and obviously enjoys playing guitar and helping others learn. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we establish a day and time that will accommodate the student's schedule, I simply try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I really believe that learning and playing guitar should be fun, that it's not as difficult as a lot of people think, and that it is a skill that can be used for the rest of one's life. Playing the guitar really does add a lot of joy, and remove a ton of stress from day-to-day living.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have many many years of professional and private music lessons from some of the most amazing players. When I lived in Southern California I studied under a very noteworthy guitar professional, he tours the world performing with many big-name acts, and performs on television shows regularly. I also worked as his guitar-tech while living in CA.
