I recently started guitar lessons with Jacob. I've tried to self-teach multiple times in the past but decided I needed a professional to get me beyond the walls I always hit. Jacob responded to my query quickly & got me started with a program that he is customizing to my goals. I appeciate that at the beginning & end of each lesson he confirms my comfort level & that he is matching the lessons to my goals. In addition to keeping the lessons fun, Jacob has been very responsive when I've had questions between lessons.Mar 26, 2020Verified
Great 1st lesson with Jacob, appreciate his interest in terms of my current level and what I would like to accomplish. Amazing follow up after the lesson, I have some homework assignments that I need to work on and look forward to my next lesson.Aug 2, 2020Verified
Jacob is an excellent with kids. He tries to connect with them by getting to know them on a personal level. He makes sure that he is teaching to the interests of his students. Jacob really breaks down the music so that it is easier to learn. Try Jacob out- you won't be disappointed.Oct 10, 2020Verified
I love how he teaches, listened to my needs and tailored his approach directly to me. That and he is generally a cool guy:-) Currently learning Chris Cornell Seasons and Rolling Stones Gimme ShelterOct 5, 2020Verified
Jacob loves what he does. I know this by the way he’s talks about the guitar. Definitely a great choice!Aug 12, 2020Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My rates are: $30 for 30 minute lessons. $45 for 45 minutes. $60/hour $90 for 90 minutes. I charge a bit more for time and travel if I can't get to your place in about 20 minutes, or if you're far outside the city; but this can be avoided for any students that wish to come to me. If any student ever found the 1st lesson to be unsatisfactory for any reason, they would not be charged. This has yet to happen, but I would only feel comfortable taking your money if you were happy with your session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Once we establish a day and time that will accommodate the student's schedule, I simply try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I really believe that learning and playing guitar should be fun, that it's not as difficult as a lot of people think, and that it is a skill that can be used for the rest of one's life. Playing the guitar really does add a lot of joy, and remove a ton of stress from day-to-day living.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have many many years of professional and private music lessons from some of the most amazing players. When I lived in Southern California I studied under a very noteworthy guitar professional, he tours the world performing with many big-name acts, and performs on television shows regularly. I also worked as his guitar-tech while living in CA.
