About
At Salish Builders, our first priority is providing clear, direct, and friendly customer communications from start to finish. We specialize in craftsman and vintage remodeling and repair, accessory living spaces, and tasteful outdoor structures. Our projects are built with uncommon attention to detail, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal--on a middle class budget. In everything we do, we look out for your health and safety by using paints and stains with little or no toxic impacts wherever possible. Our site management practices minimize dust and debris in your yard, and we love using reclaimed materials to add unique touches or match existing styles. We are most happy when your project has the look and feel you hoped for—something you live into and adopt as your own.

We are an early learning program that had a long list of small items that needed repair. Morgan came in the look around and make a list. We decided how to prioritize the work and he came 3 days later to complete the tasks. He is fast, efficient and trustworthy. We will definitely hire him again.

Morgan, company owner, was prompt, inventive and did excellent work in rebuilding a garden shed and a new post and rail fence. I recommend him highly.

Salish Builders (Morgan Ahouse) installed base, crown and window moldings throughout my home in Kirkland, WA. Morgan listened carefully to my vision for the project and gave me a fair and reasonable bid. Morgan is a skilled finish carpenter, precise and detail oriented. He has a great sense of design and fashioned a new mantel for me that I love. I am very pleased with the way the project turned out and highly recommend Morgan for your finish carpentry needs.

We had to replace the baseboard trim in our condo after a recent remodel. Morgan easily stood out amongst the people who bid for our project on Thumbtack. He is easy to work with and communicates very well. His attention to detail, work ethic and zeal to ensure the customer is happy is very commendable. We also got a few other side projects done with him while he was here (such as valance in the kitchen etc) and his inputs/design decisions in all of these were very helpful. He is also mindful of noise and dust and cleans up well after he is done.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Depending on the scale and nature of your project, Salish can contract with you by creating a fixed-bid or by estimating time and materials, both of which have their pros and cons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I prefer to exchange a few emails or a phone call to help us determine if there's likely a good fit between our services and your project. If things seem promising, I like to look at the project and the site before discussing details or preparing a preliminary estimate. For complex projects, further planning and discussion are commonly needed before getting to a contract.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I've enjoyed working with engineers, attorneys, teachers, artists, marketers, and health care providers. The range of ways that clients describe their ideas and communicate is endlessly fascinating and a fertile source for what makes each home and each project unique
