Say Goodbye to Your Addictions
What do you love about your job?
I like the fact that within a few short sessions, my clients can gain the skills and tools to move ahead in their lives. They are able to leave the anxiety and traumas behind and still retain the ability to learn from whatever the situation was that helped trigger their emotional issues. When someone comes to me with fear and anxiety and they leave with a smile and confidence, that makes my day.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
I use to work as a medical assistant in the oncology department. The oncology doctors were always telling me that I could supply someone with all of the radiation therapy and chemotherapy in the world, but until you were able to address a patient's stress and anxieties, the two therapies would have much less success. I took a course in hypnosis, and then, decided that I wanted to be able to actually counsel clients. So, I got my degree in Social and Human Services. This has led to years of a successful private practice and a long-term career as a case manager and counselor.
Describe your most memorable project.
As mentioned above, I was working with a client who had a life-long problem with driving at night. He tried several types of therapies to help resolve this. Uncovering the causes of the issue did not seem to bring any relief, but using Emotional Relief Therapy allowed the client to begin driving at night, without even being aware of the former issue until a few weeks into the new behavior. He was amazed that he was driving and feeling no anxiousness or stress. When the client reported this, I was elated for him.
