I inspire students to think clearly and write fluently.
I work with rising Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers: Grades 5 - 11.
Personalized tutoring motivate students to realize new heights in performance. I benefited from a world-class education. I pass that on.
For 10 years, I've offered an unconventional brand of writing instruction. They say if you can't do, teach. I've solo backpacked the world a few times, walked the camino de santiago, and serially started businesses since my early 20's, when I moved to Seattle with a backpack for my first startup.
I teach children to be limitless, to lead, to be strong, and to be organized 🤓
My curriculum is based on an honors program I studied under at one of the nation's premier private Middle School academies. Beyond that, I've re-written the famous writing guide, Elements of Style, for our Middle School audience. This is a course for students ready to make an intellectual jump and take on a challenge.
My course is alligned to Federal grade-level standards and I can flexibly integrate in particular student needs in areas such as Vocabulary and Grammar.
As for Organization, I offer private and group homework & study support lessons for High Schoolers. I school them in good habits and help them implement those new habits through co-working sessions alongside peers. It gives them a chance to see what they're capable of when they're totally locked in. Then we enforce that level of performance as a standard. Consistency is 🔑

Students see me like a cool older brother (pushing uncle 😬), and not another stodgy humanities teacher trying to force them to love schoolwork.
Let's get to work. Sign up for a free consultation session with me. Let's get to know eachother, discuss qualifications, plans, and fit. Then, we can get started as soon as in a few days.

My 9 years old son sees Theo every week for the past three months to improve his reading skill. It was too hard for me (non-native) to teach my son because he thinks he's not good at reading and his reading is painstakingly slow and that frustrates him.
Theo is quite an amazing teacher. I do wonder how much time he takes outside his one-on-one teaching time to be always so fully prepared. He's someone who has a keen interest in how a child's mind works in learning, what motivates him, and how can a tutor help the child to overcome his weakness. It seems there's no idle conversation between the tutor and the learner; Theo is constantly analyzing my son's English output and seeking pattern in his mistakes while not forgetting to give positive feedbacks for his small victories.
We're very happy with Theo and highly recommend him as a tutor.

We hired a writingtutor for our 10 year old son (5th grader). Leisl is a very smart, witty, charming, and intelligent tutor who our son adores. He used to be so lazy before Leisl started tutoring him, now he does seem excited about writing.

Everything with Richard has gone well. He is personable, good with my student, intelligent, professional and results-driven. My student just received an "A" on a test after working with Richard for 2 weeks.

Tutoring with StudentCircle has provided me ways to catch up with course material that my instructor could not cover in class. My assigned tutor, Timothy Moore, made the material easier to understand and taught me things to help with making the class easier to navigate.

I signed up for another tutoring service which seemed great, but after two weeks, they were unable to find a tutor. StudentCircle had a tutor within 24 hours and she seems very good. Too early to leave a detailed review, but impressed so far!
