I am a 54 year old semi-retired female. I live in Ballard with my cat, Evo, who gets along well with dogs. In fact, I am certain he believes he is a dog himself!! I am available to check on your animals daily and/or sit overnight, in your home. I love all animals, especially dogs and cats. I have no formal training, but pets have always been a part of my family, so I have lots of informal life experience to draw from. I look forward to every opportunity to spend time with animals. I go for walks every day, rain or shine, even if I am not pet sitting. I promise to give your furry family member(s) the same love, affection and attention that I give my own. I am known by some as their "animal whisperer friend" because animals tend to be drawn to me and feel calm and at peace. Connecting with living things; meaning people, animals and/or nature.

Sharon did a great job weeding our challenging yard! We're eager to have her back. Her communication was clear and she was reliable. That sounds as if it should be a given, but it isn't. In this case hiring and working with her was effortless. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Sharon was the perfect pet sitter for our family! She and her sweet cat stayed at our home for over 2 weeks watching our dog and cat and feeding all of the critters that visit our 2 acre home. A+++++

I can't say enough good things about Sharon. She kept my little Maltese dog for a week and it couldn't have gone better. I was very apprehensive about it because he has severe separation anxiety and had never stayed with anyone else. We did a meet and greet, and he spent an afternoon with her as a trial run and he seemed to fall in love with her. During the week that he stayed with her, she took him on several long walks every day and sent me pictures -- he actually looked happy in the pictures. I'm not sure he wanted to leave her when I came home! It was a huge relief to me to be able to go away knowing my dog was in such good hands. I hope she is available if I need her services again - I wouldn't hesitate to call her.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
My computer programming job of 21 years was outsourced overseas. I chose to embrace unemployment and set out on a road trip with only camping gear and my cat. I camped for several months, saw beautiful scenery and recentered myself. I love both people and animals so I chose this as a way to contribute to achieving my goal of not going back to the corporate world and living a "less is more" lifestyle.

Vacation pet sitting, both daily check-ins and overnight.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Let's meet in person before you hire me. It benefits all parties to ensure it will be a good fit beforehand.
