Pavel did a photo shoot for me during a weekday evening in August. It was an outdoor shoot with my car as a prop, since I had been wanting to take some car pictures for years now. I met Pavel at an event a few months prior, where I had a chance to chat with him briefly and found him to be friendly, easy going, and just willing to roll with things. I can imagine that balancing professionalism and friendliness (i.e. needing to make strangers feel completely comfortable to snap pictures of them) can be challenging for most, but Pavel is so natural at it! I can also tell at that event that he has an eye for detail, so I asked to hire him for this shoot. We met around 7 on a Monday at his studio. I had asked for his advice on locations for the shoot, and he had several great ideas that we went with. Our first stop was a darling waterfront street of homes somewhere around the Burien/Normandy Park neighborhood. We then drove to Queen Anne and hit a few stops, a few in front of impressive houses and one at Dick's Burgers in Lower Queen Anne for a more playful feel. It was a gorgeous evening and the natural light was perfection. Overall, the shoot took about 3 hours. Here's what I love about Pavel. Most noticeable at first and consistent throughout the shoot, his personality puts you at ease immediately, and you don't feel self-conscious that you may not know where best to place your hand here, or angle your shoe there. He gently provides guidance, not making you feel at all self-conscience that you have no idea how to model. Pavel has an incredible eye for detail, perfecting each and every aspect of the picture in such an inconspicuous manner that you don't even realize it until you see the final product. And Pavel is always on, meaning he never stops looking for that perfect picture opportunity; you can see he constantly scans the landscape and you and is always ready to snap a photo because that just might make the perfect candid shot. When we were done and I had to stop for gas, he even took pictures then at the chance that some of them might turn out nicely! I wholeheartedly recommend Pavel for your shoot. In fact, I've been thinking of reasons where I can use Pavel again, since I have been so pleased with the results.

I've had the pleasure of working with Pavel on several of my events at Seattle Theatre Group. What a superlative event photographer! Pavel is an excellent photographer, good with people and great at catching those little moments that capture the feel and emotion of the moment, whether it's a performance or just a fleeting moment between spectators, patrons or volunteers. He's also very nice, low key attitude, and easy to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend him for any event!

Pavel was nothing short of fantastic. He set up a mini-studio for our event, brought props and took plenty of pictures of posing guests and the activities around our event. More importantly he made it fun for everyone while maintaining an appropriately level of professional.

Pavel was very enthusiastic about our Daddy Daughter Dance and ensured that he understood the project. He provided his expertise to make the event a success. the photos were above what I expected. he was on time and did not interfere with the flow of the event. He engaged the guests and was able to connect with them all regardless of age. I will use his services again.

I am a dancer, specializing in traditional Chinese dance. Each year I would hire a professional photographer to capture my dance moves to keep as memory.
