- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basic 5-day turnaround, 1 - 3 speakers $1.50 / minute of recording. 2-Day 48-hour turnaround, 1 - 3 speakers $2.00 / minute of recording 1-Day 24-hour turnaround, 1 - 3 speakers $2.50 / minute of recording For a video source, heavily accented speaker, significant static / background noise, or group of 4 - 6 speakers, additional charges are $0.25 / minute of recording for the Basic level of service and $0.50 / minute of recording for the 2- and 1- Day levels of service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The independence of working for myself at home, and my facility in office skills, made transcription a very practical occupation.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Podcasts are my most common projects. Frequently I am also asked to transcribe sound distribution files that are otherwise only temporarily available online.
