Tutoring in Seattle, Issaquah and the Eastside. As the name says, Primary to PhD, all ages and level welcome! I also help with resume writing, proofreading and editing projects. I provide tutoring in the humanities and social science subjects such as English (writing, reading, comprehension, and literature), anthropology, sociology, political science, religion and related subjects. I am a PhD candidate, an experienced college instructor, and well seasoned in research and writing. I also have a lot of experience working with school-aged children. My basic philosophy applies to students of any age: As a teacher, my goal is to help the student learn course materials in a way that can be relevant to his or her everyday life, rather than approaching the material as a hurdle that can be jumped through memorization or other uninspiring methods. I find that students who can apply course concepts outside the classroom tend to do better in the classroom. This kind of applied learning is both fun and rewarding.
