About

We specialize in Handyman Services, Home Improvement, Home Repairs, Home and Bathroom Remodeling, Restorations, and from the Ground-Up Construction. I am a fifth-generation carpenter. I was a carpenter in my family's business, building custom and tract homes, and remodeling before joining the U.S. Army. After spending time in the military (1979–1982), I specialized in commercial drywall installation and finishing. I went on to become a residential drywall contractor, mastering both hanging and finishing techniques for new construction and repairs. Later, I returned to working for my family and other national home builders, where I framed custom homes and performed high-end finish carpentry. In between building homes, we remodeled homes. I did the layout, framing, finish carpentry, and put the final finishes (punch out) on many multimillion-dollar homes, some of which were winners of the Parade of Homes. I added handyman services to my job description during the big housing crash. I continue to provide handyman services, remodeling, and many other home services and professional trades that I have learned and perfected. I've personally installed well over 500 doors in my time, so if you need interior or exterior doors, just let me know. I am a multi-trade craftsman who pays close attention to detail and loves providing high-quality work in a timely manner. I am a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor, and these are the specialty trades that I excel in: Drywall Contractor, Door Contractor, Remodeling Contractor, Custom Home Framing Contractor, Trim & Finish Carpentry Contractor, Painting Contractor, Conventional Roof Framer, Siding Contractor, Deck Contractor, Handyman Service, Home Repair, Home Improvement Contractor, Tile Contractor, and Bathroom Remodeling Contractor. Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Susan! It was a pleasure working with you and your family. I’m glad I could build you a strong, sturdy staircase with wider treads, stained red oak, white risers, and a custom balustrade for that classic, timeless look.

5 stars. Scott repaired two pockets doors for me. He was able to repair rather than replacing the doors. They can now be opened & closed with 1 finger instead of lifting. I was very pleased he squeezed me in because I was preparing for family guest coming. He is very professional & cleaned both areas. I will definitely use his services again.

Scotts Custom Construction and Spokane Handyman's reply

Thank You Ella. It was a pleasure meeting you. I'm glad I could assist you with your beautiful stained doors and trim. I look forward to assisting you with your next siding project. :)

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing and Estimate Fees: Job costs vary by job requirements. Death-defying, very hard, or dangerous work costs a little more, while easier jobs cost less. I provide Time and Materials agreements for flexibility and transparency. I also provide flat-rate quotes and pricing. There are no markups on supplies or materials. You only pay for the actual cost of the supplies used. If your project is billed hourly, I charge for the time it takes to pick up and deliver materials. I offer military, senior, and disabled discounts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Due to the high volume of phone calls and marketing spam, I prefer that customers requesting assistance fill out the Contact form. I will contact you as soon as possible if I can assist you. Once a customer is in my phone contacts, they can contact me anytime. From there, we can schedule a time for a simple estimate or begin a job. Often, I can start the job immediately, but sometimes, we may need to plan the date to begin.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a skilled and experienced professional in the construction industry, I have completed an extensive OSHA training and obtained an RRP certification that is required for any contractor working on homes that were built before 1978. With many years of experience dating back to my teenage years building custom homes, and remodeling homes, I have honed my abilities as a contractor, consistently delivering high-quality work at a rapid pace. As a general contractor, remodeler, and handyman, I continue to uphold this standard of excellence, completing projects quickly and to the highest level of quality. My extensive knowledge of home repairs and improvements allows me to tackle a wide range of projects with confidence, proficiency, and speed.
