Excellent experience from start to finish Found the company here and booked the job over phone. farazz the tech that came out was very professional and likable and fun to work with . He even waited for me as I had to run some errands. Pleasant to talk to and did a great job on the carpets. All the stains were removed. I highly recommend hiring Power clean and asking for the same guy who cleaned our carpets. Also carpet was dry hour or two after he finished. Amazing.

Pro: Excellent service (arrived as scheduled, courteous, hard working) Con: Carpet was not dry in the 'about eight hours' as expressed by Joe. Carpet cleaning was completed about 2 Friday. Heated the house as directed. As of Saturday afternoon, the carpet was to damp to walk on.

We expected the stains to come up better but that's on us probably. He cleaned the baseboard areas that had turned dark gray from dust so i was happy with that. Carpet cleaners usually don't try to clean the edges to the baseboard but he did.

Al was able to accommodate my request next day for a move out carpet clean. He was one of the few carpet cleaners that uses a mobile, commercial grade machine. it did not require a van or hoses to be run through my windows as my unit is on the 3rd floor of my condo. He was 5 minutes early for our scheduled time. Very friendly and extremely efficient. He did an excellent job cleaning my 1BR condo (living room, bedroom, walk in closet) in less than 1 hour. In and out. I highly recommend him. He is very personable and quite the professional. If I was staying in Seattle, I would use him again. Highly recommend!

Josefino was absolutely amazing. He even called prior to say he was on his way. Even though most carpet cleaners don't move items to clean underneath he did just that. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely use Angels Carpet Care again. Thank you very much

Great experience-they were able to fit us in on short notice. They were very respectful and made sure to clean up after themselves which is not something that all carpet cleaners have done for us in the past. Would definitely hire again.

The carpet looked very nice after Scott finished cleaning. It took three days for the carpet to dry out, though. Fall weather was pretty humid. Overall, we were happy with the results.

Great job! They removed bright orange ink stains when another company couldn't. Carpet dried very quickly, which means they spent extra time and effort on it. Very reasonable price, well worth it!

I hired Emerald City Maids to do a Move-In clean up for the house that I just purchased. Shannon did a great job and was very thorough. I knew that the sellers had not done a deep cleaning but hadn't realized how light of cleaning they had done. I am truly grateful for Shannon's attention to detail and her obsession for a clean house. I feel the house is now move-in ready.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

  • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
  • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
  • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
