FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly looking for new and better ways to improve so I can keep up in this growing and expanding field. I have taken courses with The Define School as well as Clickin' Moms. I subscribe to multiple photography education magazines to be sure I am up to date with the latest trends in art, equipment, and photography in general.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
ALWAYS interview your birth photographer!!! You may fall in love with someone's photos, but in the delivery room, if that's the first time you're meeting with them, you may hate them as a person! Interviews help us to make sure YOU are getting the best you deserve! Don't be afraid to ask for an interview or two! This is YOUR birth! We are there to capture it!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Being a birth professional, whether it's a photographer, a doula, midwife, etc, means long hours. Long hours away from home, living next to your phone for weeks waiting on "the call". For photographers, though, the work doesn't end after delivery. There's the hours spent editing, then designing beautiful products for you to share, uploading your gallery, then making sure you're completely satisfied with it all. Birth photography is a labor of love, whole heartedly.
