I hired Jarrod to assemble my IKEA furniture. There were seven different items but Jarrod organized his work as such all seven furniture would be assembled in the least time possible. I really liked how he goes about his work with true professionalism - starting from assembling the nuts that go together, doing a thorough work of organizing the pieces, assembling them, testing and then cleaning up after he is done.

Eric responded within a short time from my request through Thumbtack. I described the job, he estimated the job charge on the phone, we confirmed a time for the work which was within an hour & a half start from the call. He arrived at my residence at 7:30p, accessed the job, drove out to Home Depot for parts needed, came back to finish the task at 10:40p. The other reviewers wrote of his promptness, professionalism, & his courtesy. I too commend Eric of these qualities. He was & will be again a pleasure to contract in the repair/handyman world that often leaves customers void of satisfaction. He will be the household professional of choice for my future needs.

I gave WP Refinishing a pretty big job: refinishing or touching up a houseful of furniture that had dinged, smashed, scratched and otherwise damaged by movers. My coffee table was in the worst condition and needed a complete refinish. Wes took it to his shop, and I could not believe my eyes when he returned it--it looked brand new and untouched. Wes also restored some badly dinged small tables I thought were beyond help, and he made scratches on the rest of my furniture disappear. Wes is a down-to-earth, honest practitioner of his craft whose years of experience are evident. I plan to use WP Refinishing again to cover up a furniture assembly mistake. Regardless what kind of help your furniture needs, it's in good hands with Wes.

Pat was a life saver! I had an entire bedroom set of IKEA furniture to put together and couldn't possibly have done it myself. Pat replied to my Thumbtack request promptly, was always easy to communicate with, and arrived on time and well prepared for the job. When the job turned out to be way more complicated than either of us had anticipated--an eight drawer dresser instead of a six, a bed with a million pieces to put together instead of just a frame and some slats--Pat returned to my home to complete the job the next day, even though we'd both assumed it would be an afternoon's project and the commute for him wasn't insignificant. He went above and beyond what he'd agreed to do originally and seemed to take genuine pleasure in the careful completion of a job well done. For example, two of the dresser drawers didn't quite close smoothly when originally constructed, so Pat broke out his tools and adjusted the runners himself. I would highly recommend P@ Carpentry & Handyman and will hire him again if I have a similar project.

I needed a 60" two height cabinet to match the 1960's style cabinets in our home that we have renewed with paint. As a former contractor, I have had occasion to deal with many craftsmen and Whitman Cabinets is second to none. Greg was responsive, got me a bid and a rendering of the cabinets right away, and listened and adjusted as I changed the design and fussed about this and that. The job was completed ahead of schedule and they are now a focal point in our updated kitchen. Whitman Cabinets is to be commended for it's excellent business model.

I operate out of a small shop in my back yard, which helps keep my overhead low. I specialize in wooden furniture. I can strip and re-finish furniture with all natural finishes, staying clear of lacquer. I also do repair work on furniture. I got my start in furniture repair at the Bon Marche in their furniture department, and have been doing it for 23 years now.
