I am a musician / guitarist and teacher. I have studied jazz and enjoy playing styles of rock and blues on the electric. I also studied piano in college and have enjoyed playing some beautiful music and have written some of my own song's on the key-board. I will provide the basic fundamentals of music foundation. Finding a teacher is important, I believe there are many great players and teachers, one should take advantage of all who possess the talent of giving their knowledge and experience to those who want to learn. I wrote my my own method, this method will help you to become a musician through the understanding of the guitar. It can be used for progressive self -study. The value of having a teacher can help you on issues that you may never think of yourself. Tune up and enjoy. I have a MM in Performance and have taught theory and music fundamentals at several schools in the NW.

James has been wonderful to work with. He is very approachable and knowledgeable, and quickly had me playing chords and practicing strumming techniques. He has been very accessible and flexible with scheduling meeting times. I have enjoyed my first few sessions and plan to stick it out until I am playing the guitar on my own.

James Manuele is a friendly and gentle teacher. I'm a beginner on acoustic guitar, and he's always very encouraging and nice to me. James teaches guitar at two colleges, Clark College in Vancouver WA, and Concordia University in Portland OR. I meet with him weekly at Concordia. It should be noted that he specializes in classical guitar, and also plays electric. He's open-minded to students that play the regular steel string acoustic guitar, such as myself. James is an excellent teacher, especially if you like classical, jazz, latin, or fingerstyle music. But even if you prefer rock, don't be afraid to give James a try, because the techniques you learn from studying classical guitar can be a solid foundation for any style you wish to pursue later on. In short, I really like studying with James Manuele, and hope to be able to study with him long-term.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
yes, my pricing is very comparable with professional teachers with a master degree in music and my 30 plus years of being a college, private instructor and full time performer. I am always to work with any of my students or professional clients to accommodate their needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Like any of my new students or clients, I would have a one on one consultation to find out there goals and priorities so I can build my my proposal. When teaching, the first lesson is always free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in music and teaching. I have been a college instructor for about 25 years, had my own studio, self authored my own basic guitar method book, and have performed in concert and workshops across the US. I have co produced and program called, Guitarology, the history and performance program for guitar.
