Hired on Thumbtack

**cleaner never showed** Overall great communication and ability to pay in advance to schedule a move-out house cleaning on a Sunday 5/31 that their firm suggested. I turned down two other pros from the app and prepaid with Kick Back because of their open communication and fair rates. WHY the 1-STAR? (See below) Day of appointment I arrived at our old home early, wait 20 minutes past start time and no one is there. Contact Kick Back only to be told that they are having troubles lately with getting girls to commit to jobs they take with COVID and the nicer weather. Meanwhile, I’m on a deadline with my landlord on 5/31 - cash out of pocket for cleaners who haven’t shown up! They tried for another 45 minutes to call around with no luck to find a replacement on a Sunday morning to clean out home. Very frustrating experience, the owner blamed the ‘girl’ for not showing up “what can you do.” But did the honorable gesture to refund the hundreds in prepaid money via PayPal (less fees) after I waited 90-minutes at our empty home. I then had to call other cleaning services to find next availability for some one local, not from the thumbtack app.... and negotiate with the former landlord, who dinged us on the security deposit return amount for the delays going into June 3rd. Ugh... What a difficult spot to be put in by a so called “Pro” on Thumbtack. They should have been more honest on where they were traveling from and that our old home was really outside of their normal jurisdiction, plus scheduling on a Sunday (their suggestion) I’m sure only put a further strain to find someone on their staff willing to drive that far. Checking in on their own staff in the AM to confirm would have been nice as well, so I wouldn’t have been needing to be their liaison all morning to help find a replacement. Just bad customer experience in the end. Tsk tsk.

yes Laurie, we deeply do apologise. Not that makes better but we did verify with staff member before scheduling one out of area, they said they would take the job and said the day and time worked good for them. Also they did verify night before, we actually did contact them tat morning with no answer, although sometimes normal if they are driving or working. Again, deeply sorry that happened to you

We are very comptetive with services in area like us. We are a little more then the local lady but we know you will recieve quality. Every cleaner is held to high standards, we also are insured and background check anyone with us.

The company was started by two partners. One who loves cleaning and holds a lots of experience and high standards in it. The other with a background in business function and customer service.
