FuZion Videos has made my business digital face a reality. My undergrad was in Piano Pedagogy and upon graduating I would not have known how to begin to set up a website. During my last semester of college, FuZion Videos asked me about my desires for a website and branding. I did not know how to begin, but FuZion Videos directed me through the process of choosing and designing a branding that best represented my music business. FuZion Videos made the process easy and enjoyable. The company then also walked me through setting up and operating a website. I appreciate that whenever I do not know what to do, FuZion Videos guides me through the how and why to do it. They are so friendly and helpful and truly care about the success of their clients. I strongly recommend FuZion Videos, and I look forward to working with their expertise for years to come.

Wendy is a great designer! I worked with her twice to help me design an add-on menu and a flyer page for my restaurant. She is a great communicator and she could understand my requirements very clearly. I definitely would recommend her to anyone looking for a graphic designer!

Tim and his team partnered with me to meet my client's need for new everything: logo/tagline design, complex website and print collateral - all on tight timeline of 2-3 months. The client, a large managed care organization, is located elsewhere, so timely communication via email/conference calls was a must. Tim & Michelle, the Account Director, came through like champs! On time, great creative for both digital and print media, quick turn-around on client changes, flexibility in meeting inevitable, challenges, excellent customer service for both the client and me. I will turn to Tim, Michelle and the FreshinUp crew for future clients & projects -- and recommend you give them a fresh look, too.

Sam at Brandstache takes design and branding to a whole new level. From the first time I saw their work, to what their actual end product is, at every point it has blown me away. Beyond just the quality of their work, they are professional and a joy to work with. You can really tell that they care about their customers and every point of every project they work on. And some how or another they still manage to be uber responsive and friendly. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!! You won't be disappointed!

I needed a website built for my start up and they fit the bill. They revamped my logo, created and edited all the content and had the site up and running within a few business days. They even sent rough drafts and updates right to my phone during the design process, which was great. I highly recommend them.

Shannan did a great job designing (2) of my websites. I've received compliments from numerous clients over the years on the appearance and user friendliness of the sites. Shannan also helped me understand some of the "back end" aspects of my Word Press website which has been extremely beneficial. My online presence has also been boosted with his help & SEO knowledge. I would highly recommend him for efficient, quality website work. Thanks again Shannan. Here are links to my websites: www.whiteholistichealing.com www.coachmissangelica.com

I hired Sierra to create my logo and branding. She consistently went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was satisfied with her designs, and was always very receptive to my thoughts and ideas. My new brand and business cards get constant attention wherever I go, and my business now definitely has a more polished and cohesive look to it. Aside from having a great design sense, she has a certain affinity towards understanding my business' very specific needs (and importantly, the not so specific ones, as well). I highly recommend Sierra Lauren Korthof Design, and will very much look forward to doing business with her again in the future.

      About

I conceptualize, design and create the look and feel of a variety of products, from start to finish, as part of internal marketing and production effort. I will be responsible for the creation and execution of marketing efforts to include all aspects of the design. I have the ability to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment, be able to multitask, communicate effectively with multiple parties, and be comfortable taking directions and working independently. I especially enjoy and value helping start-ups get them up and running. I'm advising them on design and production of an identity package, fresh signage, trade show booth designs and assisting with color designs, signage of new brick-and-mortar locations and start or freshen up old web pages. I'm also creating and focusing on continuity between it all.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

What should you look for in a website designer?

A professional web designer creates the look and feel of your website, collaborating with you to choose colors, creating logos and other branding materials, establishing page layouts, and creating sample pages. An important part of web design is making sure the site is functional, meets your goals, and is easy for users to navigate. When you’re looking to hire a web designer, start by reviewing the person’s portfolio. Look for samples of work that match what you envision for your website, including experience building the types of pages or features you want. Make sure the web designer is familiar with your industry and understands both industry trends and web design trends — an old-fashioned or out-of-touch site will turn customers away rather than intrigue them.

Because web designers tend to work as freelancers on a project basis, they must be excellent communicators, willing to manage their own work, and available on your schedule. Some critical skills, such as working collaboratively and responding enthusiastically to feedback, aren’t core to good web design, but make working with a web designer much easier. Finally, look for a web designer who has cross-functional knowledge, such as understanding marketing and conversion rate optimization in addition to web design.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

      • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
      • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
      • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

      • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
      • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
      • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
        • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
        • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
        • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
        • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
