- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My other professional career is being a professional ballroom and latin dancer. My students always loved the way I did my own makeup and began asking me for help with their own. One student led to another and eventually I found myself building another career for myself. I wanted to learn even more so I started taking classes at QC Makeup Academy where I got the opportunity to learn from celebrity makeup artist, Nathan Johnson.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently got asked for to do makeup for a short film and it was an amazing experience.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always question the price of the artist. When an artist's quote is low, it could be too good to be true. For example, an artist's who quotes a low rate may not have any knowledge of sanitation practices. I always make sure my hands are clean and the brushes and products I use are sanitized properly.
