John did some patient troubleshooting (my house is quirky!) and struck me as highly competent and communicative. I expect to hire him again and will recommend him to others.

I made a mistake. I thought I could build storage shed in my back yard. I found that, for a variety issues, that ultimately that wasn’t such a good idea. The shed was built in a narrow area at the base of a very steep hill and to the right of a retaining wall and left of an old split rail fence . As the project progressed it became clear that I chose a less then ideal location as the terrain made the work awkward and difficult. It wasn’t the only oversight but I did manage to construct a small shed… right up to shingling the roof. At that point it became obvious I needed to find someone that new what they were doing.
Thumb Tack provided quite a few choices and I settled on John based on a reasonable hourly rate and all the positive ratings. Quite a fortunate selection. John showed up on time and ready to work. He was faced with a real challenge. Finding a suitable place to set a ladder was impossible. But John managed. The set up wasn’t entirely stable but it wasn’t long before he managed to get up a bundle of shingles and complete the roof. It wasn’t easy. In fact it appeared somewhat risky. Nevertheless the job was completed and the bill more then reasonable. Bottomline, when completed the shed looked great! Good enough where the issues resulting from my decision to take a DIY approach were not all that apparent. I actually got some compliments on a fine looking shed. I would add one more thing, because it is important to me. John cleaned up and removed all the resulting construction debris. The bottom line… The shed looked great, the area was thoroughly cleaned and I would highly recommend John to anyone who asked.

Took on a very challenging kitchen exhaust fan installation and did a great job! This project turned out to be much bigger than I anticipated, but Johnny was able to get it done. Job required some additional electrical work and he was able to pull in an electrician to make sure the work was done right. Safety first. Highly recommend using his handyman services!
