They were on time and prepared with all the moving materials. They went out of their way to ask about certain items and were very efficient. The move was really flawless with everything delivered without a scratch and not a thing missing. If you are looking for reliable and honest movers. Safehands Movers is the one to go to!

I would highly recommend JL Moving. Don't waste your money with other movers. The rates at JL are super competitive, their customer service is outstanding, and their friendly movers did a great job taking care of our items during the move. They were also willing to move items that other movers refused to take. This is a good company that genuinely cared about my level of satisfaction.

Nicest movers ever! I called in the afternoon one day and they came the next morning at 9 am. They came right on time and moved everything quickly and well. I would not hesitate to call them again. They saved me so much time and energy!

I've had some pretty bad moving experiences from no-show movers to movers who were careless with my belongings. However, ERO Moving LLC was hands-down the best company I've hired to-date. They were happy to accommodate two moves in one day and worked very efficiently (and that was after having done a couple moves earlier in the day!). I was also grateful they made my U-Haul truck work even though I should have rented a bigger one. Great experience!

Hungry Man Movers recently moved a split king adjustable bed for me. They were on time, extremely courteous, and very fast. I'm very satisfied with them and would hire them again.

Juan and 3 of his movers helped me move across town, including a stop at a storage unit, in about half the time it took the Big Name Company to make the same move 6 months ago! SGT Movers are professional & efficient and I love the company's mission to put our service men & women and vets to work. Thanks again!

BK Movers was hired to load and unload a truck while moving. Brian was very professional when i contacted him about services and prices were fair and negotiable. Brian kept in contact up until the day of the move, confirming the night before on time and location. BK movers arrived on time to location with 3 professional guys and were very nice. Thier expertise was noted immediately. They surveyed what needed to be moved and got right to it. They loaded a 4 bedroom house full of furniture in just over a hour. Brian is a mastermind on packing a truck and really maximized the space we had. When arriving to new house the movers unloaded the items in about 1 1/2 hours, (it took a little longer because we were trying to get a fridge up some stairs. They were very strong and even were able to assist with getting some things over the balcony that woukd not fit over the stairs. We were very satisfied with the service and definitely will use them again and recommend them to our friends and family. No damage to property at all. No even one scratch.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
