- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on material costs (lumber, hardware, and finishes), labor, and any delivery or installation costs. Custom furniture varies from one project to the next, but we're happy to work with you to meet a price point. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process generally follows this order: inspiration, design, materials deposit, build & finish, delivery or pickup. We'll start by discussing what you want, and any photos or ideas you already have. I then start designing, and make sure we have any critical measurements we may need. Once we get a design ironed out, we'll discuss a materials deposit. Once I receive the materials deposit, I can begin building your piece. When I'm finished, I can deliver or provide the piece for pickup.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been building custom furniture for nearly 10 years. I took courses to get started for a few years. Now I'm teaching beginner woodworking courses in the Milwaukee area.
