Introduction: Completing my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and receiving multiple certifications in personal training and various modalities of fitness, set me apart from a typical professional in the field. My expertise in mind-body formats like Yoga and Pilates, coupled with training in Corrective Exercise, makes me uniquely qualified to assess each client's strengths and weaknesses to create a program to meet his or her unique needs. My clients gain a better sense of body awareness and appreciation for what it can do! My favorite part is when I see how a client's improved physical fitness spills over into the rest of his or her life, whether it is improved diet and lifestyle, or just better self-esteem and confidence. Taking care of our bodies can be very empowering.

I started working with Jen from Refined Fitness to strengthen my core in the hopes of relieving lower and mid-back pain and to learn about techniques to reduce pain from peripheral neuropathy. After a complete assessment, Jen explained...in a very understandable way...the root causes of the pain I was experiencing, what needed to be addressed and then presented a comprehensive treatment plan to address my issues. The foundation stones that Jen laid down for my physical recovery are a set of stretches and exercises that I do according to a weekly schedule, a holistic approach to diet, meditation as well as continually monitoring and fine-tuning my work-life balance. Today, I am reaping benefit upon benefit from Jen's broad knowledge, kind and compassionate approach(yes, she can be tough when needed but it's done in a sweet, caring way) and her dedication to improving my overall health and well being. After less than 9 months of working together, I suffer one-third the level of back pain, I have lost over 25 pounds of body weight with a 5% reduction in my BMI(currently 24.9...I am no longer obese!), less pain frm peripheral neuropathy and I have a straighter spine and better balance. I am very Grateful to have learned so much from Jen at Refined Fitness and look forward keeping the tools that I have learned at work to continue to improve the quality of my life.

I learned so much from working one on one with Jen. I could never quite motivate myself to be consistent with a workout regimen - now I feel empowered. She took the time to develop a program that would challenge me, while ensuring it included components of my favorite mind-body workouts, like yoga and pilates. With her help, I look and feel great - both inside and out. She's incredibly knowledgeable and takes on a holistic approach - so you're kind to your body while achieving results you never thought possible. Seriously - if someone told me at the beginning I'd be able to do the splits in a few months time, I'd never have believed it. Lifetime fitness goal, achieved!

I had the opportunity to work, one on one, with Jen a number of times and have always enjoyed my sessions with her. Jen is knowledgeable, up to date with trends, resourceful, a good listener, and responsive. I always felt she did a great job working with me.....helping find the right program inline with my goals. She never tried to work a program on me.

Jen has worked with me privately for over a year providing ongoing rehabilitation after chemotherapy. I have regained balance and mobility through her adaptive yoga/pilates therapies. Jen has modified and adapted my program as to my weekly needs and was very flexible in scheduling my visits. I would highly recommend her services to others.
