"They did a great job and had great quality pictures. My guest LOVED the photo booth so much! I'm so happy I had Creative Snapshots part of my big day. Even with the snow storm they showed up almost 20 mins early. Thanks again"

"DJ and Photo booth services were provided for a graduation party. Props were fun and appropriate for all ages at the party. Music was also a nice added touch. Not too loud, and brought back a lot of fun family memories! "

"Charles has captured the wedding memories of two of my daughters marriages. He is attentive to detail, easy to work with and was creative in putting together a video to not only have as a keep sake, but also to share with the wedding reception guests - it was truly one of the highlights of the evening on both occasions. Videograhically capturing special events is a great complement to the traditional still photos - Charles was even creative in blending still photos with videography which was a really cool affect....many of the guests took the opportunity to express how professionally and well done the video/photo presentation was. Guest are silent and spellbound viewing the memories Charles captures throughout the day and then creatively assembles for viewing at the wedding reception. It was an awesome addition and became one of the "special events" of the day! You will find Charles to be very accomodating, easy to work with and will go the extra mile to do an excellent job while keeping within your budget expectations. I would highly recommend Charles - Lifetime photographic and videographic services. He is very professional and will deliver a " top shelf" finished product. I do not loosely do ratings of "Outstanding", in fact, I rarely provide requests for reviews, but with two consistent, high quality experiences I am pleased to wholeheartedly endorse Charles services. Good luck with your event planning. Dave"

"Forever Moments photo booth was perfect for our wedding! Jason was professional and prompt with set up and take down. He brought lots of fun props with him as well. I paid extra for the images on a USB drive which I received the evening of my event. My husband and I printed off the images of guests in the booth and included them in our thank you notes we sent out. Guest's loved it. Thanks again Jason!"

"We used Sound Sensations Entertainment for our photo booth rental. The service was great, our pictures were awesome. Kyle and Philip went above and beyond to make sure our guests had a great time. The only part I didn't like was that their was always a line to use the Photo Booth, but I think it's because our guests had so much fun that they kept using it over and over. Thanks again for making our reception such a memorable fun experience! Selena Schmidt"

"Kristin did a fabulous job with my daughters wedding photos. From the first engagement photos down to the last photo the night of the wedding she was nothing but professional. Turn around time for the pictures was also very quick! I will (and have!) recommend Pixel Posh Photography Studio to everyone I know."

"Complete Weddings + Events (and more specifically Josh Kingsley) provided DJ/karaoke services and a photo booth for our company holiday party. The communication to coordinate and finalize the event details was outstanding. The song selection for karaoke was fantastic, and our guests had a blast using the different photo booth props and seeing the company branding on the prints. Not to mention, the services came at a great price. I highly recommend Complete Weddings + Events for your next event. "

"Zach was AMAZING for my wedding. He truly went above and beyond. To start, he was willing to travel from Green Bay, WI to Milwaukee, WI for our wedding. Then when the venue lost all power Zach immediately got on his phone to try to remedy the situation. He drove over 10 miles to rent a generator so our reception could have music and dancing. It was truly amazing. On top of that he played great music that kept the party moving right to the last dance. I would highly recommend Zach and N.E.W. Entertainment Unlimited LLC to everyone. It will be the best decision you will ever make. *Photos taken by JuniperAsh Photography"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.

How do you make a wedding photo booth backdrop?

Creative or DIY-savvy couples can make a wedding photo booth backdrop in no time. You can ask your rental company to incorporate a custom backdrop into your rental party photo booth, or do your own custom photo booth with a friend serving as photographer. It’s easiest to make your own backdrop for an open air photo booth, which you can hang on a wall at an indoor reception, or hang from a tree or in a homemade frame at an outdoor reception.

One simple yet glamorous option is a tinsel curtain. Choose silver or gold for classic elegance, or go for a wild color like bright pink. For a more refined look, you can purchase three or four yards of a luxe fabric that fits your wedding color theme. Creative couples may want to get funky and spray-paint or hand-paint designs onto a cotton canvas backdrop. Don’t forget to provide props for your guests; the props are half the fun and encourage guests to get playful for the camera. Paint an oversized picture frame gold (don’t forget to take out the glass!) for your guests to hold up. Provide a chalkboard where they can write cute messages to hold in their photo, and colorful items from your costume box: think hats, wigs, funky sunglasses, and sequined accessories.
