Pet Boarding Service, Dog Sitter, Pet Groomer, Dog Walking, Day Care & Sitting. Rover is a trusted online community where people can find, list, and book neighborhood dog lovers who can't wait to watch their dog.

Dogs are my pride and joy. They need love, direction and care. My purpose is to help them live long and have healthy lives.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2007 with a major in psychology, and part of that was taking canine psychology one and two with my professor who is considered the dog whisperer of the Midwest. I was paid up to $500 per hour. I have looked up to this man and he is my role model in life, as I have never met a man as interested and passionate about dogs as I am, along with the knowledge he has given me, as dogs are my life. I shadowed him for over a year and bought my German Shepherd Mya, my baby girl who is 5, which I trained myself along with doing agility courses and other work with her and other dogs I have trained. I have helped in changing behavior in dogs and modifying it for specific needs along with teaching you training skills, working with you and your dog to connect and have them learn not just from myself but rather from you, their owner, with my guidance. You can contact me if you do have a question and need my help as I'm happy to work with you and your companion.

I facilitate an open line of communication with canine companions. I build a strong bond between companions and pet parents through obedience training and brain enrichment exercises. I offer specialty classes such as trick training, socialization, behavior modification, and one-on-one private lessons.

I like to watch your friendly animals. I give care and love to all the animals. I hope to someday take care of them.

K911 provides an accelerated learning program for large/medium breeds of all ages, where your dog is boarded, trained in obedience, socialized, vigorously exercised and groomed -- all for a price that's comparable to most kennels. We offer both a 1-week program and a 2-week program. You will receive a YouTube video of your dog working with a master trainer and a canine behaviorist, Brad Wolfert, along with a detailed report of its progress that includes individualized instructions to keep your dog behaving once he's/she's home. We offer free pickup and drop-off anywhere in SE Wisconsin and a complimentary 2-hour in-home training session when he or she returned. Your pooch will run and play like a dog on our over 15 acres of land located next to the pristine Terry Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, WI, where he or she can swim and enjoy the beach of Lake Michigan. At the same time, your dog will be strictly trained in house manners, dog socialization, agility, obedience, hand signals, and perfect heeling and given strong leadership that will help even the most unruly dogs overcome their challenges -- even dog-on-dog aggression. Your pups' nails will be clipped, paw fur trimmed, and teeth brushed; they'll be bathed, and lastly de-shedded, so they come home looking, smelling and acting better than before. Brad Wolfert of K911 is a seasoned dog handler with over a decade of experience and specializes in large/medium breeds. He also trains service dogs for disabled individuals and military veterans. He believes in a practical, no-nonsense approach that gives positive results and has a unique style that's unlike most trainers you'll find today. His love for dogs is what drives him to be successful, and his passion for training is apparent to all who know him.

We are a full-service dog training facility that can provide a variety of services, ranging from basic obedience, all hunting breeds pointing and flushing on land and water to dog behavior correction. We also provide dog and cat boarding and grooming (professionally trained groomer on site). We give dogs special care when it comes to boarding and training and have a variety of packages available to custom fit each dog. Most of our trainings have a "hands-on" approach with teaching the dogs first approach.

I am a professional dog trainer and behavior consultant. This is my full time job, this allows me to stay current on everything new in the world of animal behvaior. I attend at least three seminars a year and read countless books and articles on the subject of dogs and their training. The training I provide is positive and rooted in science. Well, everything. Meeting new dog owners and reassuring them that we will fix whatever the problem may be. Getting to show people how smart their dog really is, and seeing their hard work pay off. It is awesome, I will never do anything else.

Wags-N-Woofs also offers boarding, for those times when leaving Fido and Fluffy at home isn't an option. Pets stay in our home, not in a sterile, cold kennel environment. We only take 1 to 3 boarders at a time, so your dog will always be in a fun, relaxed setting.

We tend to use a mix between force free and traditional training. We train service dogs, but also train basic obedience for non service dogs. I absolutely love working with dogs, and when I first became disabled I didn't have anyone to help me. This is my dream, and I hope that we can help me make it come true.

I have been working at a dog wash for the past 5 years,my services offered includes a bath for your dog, dog walking, and dog sitting. I have been working with animals my whole life and enjoy energy and life they bring to any household.

I am a certified dog trainer (through the APDT) with a Master's degree in Animal Behavior. I offer basic dog training and behavior modification for dogs with behavior problems (aggression, barking, difficulty walking, house training, crate training, and more). I work closely with clients to help solidify training techniques and encourage more acceptable behaviors from their dogs. I primarily focus on canine-friendly methods.

I am my own person and do other things as well. The basic things I care for are pets (any animals). The other things I do include taking care of cleaning around the house/home. I have very flexible hours. Depending on the kind of animal, I do basic training for rabbits, dogs, cats, and guinea pigs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How old should a puppy be for training?

Dog training shouldn’t wait until you’re having behavior problems. If you get a new puppy, start from the beginning with professional training to give both you and your puppy the tools you need for a healthy relationship. Dog training is as much about teaching the owner how to interact with their new dog as it is about the dog learning to behave. Puppy training can start as early as eight weeks old. Trainers who offer puppy training programs may works specifically with dogs between the ages of 8 and 18 weeks old. Trainers can teach owners about potty training and how to deal with accidents, working with separation anxiety, and training your pooch out of destructive behaviors like chewing, biting and demand barking. Puppies will start to learn to walk on-leash and other basic skills.

In addition to behavior training, socializing your puppy is an important part of dog training. Socializing your dog means they become comfortable and confident in a variety of settings and have a great foundation for becoming a well-adjusted adult dog. After your puppy has had the proper vaccinations, you can start to introduce it to a variety of different dogs and people in safe settings.

Which dog training method is best?

The best type of dog training for both you and your dog depends on the outcomes you hope to achieve. If you want your dog to learn agility training, go to someone who specializes in those techniques. Regardless of whether you want your dog to learn basic behavior or competitive-level tricks, the majority of dog training is actually about training the owner how to communicate with their dog. Most professional dog trainers agree that a model of training based on positive reinforcement breeds a happy, healthy, well-adjusted dog. The alternative to positive reinforcement training is using force or aggression techniques like physical punishment or shock-collar training to get the dog to do (or not do) a behavior. While the dog may learn how to behavior as you direct, it is also learning to communicate with force and aggression, and will in turn use those behaviors on other dogs (or people) that are smaller or weaker than it is. Before signing up with a dog trainer, meet with the trainer and ask for references. Watch the trainer interact with your dog, and make sure they treat your dog with patience and firm kindness. Ask them questions about their training methods:

  • What type of training methods do you use?
  • What is your background and training, and how did you become a dog trainer?
  • How long do you expect that we will work together before we achieve the results I’m after?

How long does it take to train a puppy?

Dog training depends on the dog and how much homework the dog owner is willing to put in. Puppy training is similar to dog training in that the onus of the work depends on the owner learning new ways to interact with their dog. For a quick crash course, you can opt for a single, two hour smart-start puppy training consultation to teach you the ins and outs of being a new dog parent. You can learn how to manage potty training and what to do if the puppy experiences separation anxiety. As long as you’re willing to work on dog training a little bit each day, your puppy will quickly learn these new behaviors. If you’re not confident about training your puppy yourself, you can enroll in a 6- to 8-week puppy training course, with weekly lessons touching on everything from bite control to obedience. Puppies usually need to be at least three months old for group training classes. If you want more intensive one-on-one work, you can opt for private lessons. Some behavior problems can be resolved in one session if the dog owner learns and can implement new skills. In the case of more serious issues, 3 to 10 private sessions can typically correct challenges.
