Susie sets the bar for professional dog trainers. She is extremely knowledgeable and is an excellent communicator both with humans, dog and I must add cats! We've made amazing progress with our two new pups in just 24 hours. Susie gives you the skills necessary to feel confident about creating the best home environment for you and your pets.
Carolyn is a great and patient trainer. My dog is a work in progress but progress is what we are getting with Carolyn.
We looked for a trainer for our dog Buddy for about 3 months. Buddy is a 5 year old Akita, he started showing aggression to other dogs and strangers. We tried to correct the behavior ourselves but had no luck. We found Diana through a neighbor who had great things to say. Buddy went for a 3 week aggression/socialization program and came home like a different dog. In the two months since he has been home we have had no issues. He has been truly a joy to have back in our home!
First off, Christy is amazing! She is very professional and cares about dogs deeply. I contacted Christy because I have a 46 pound Pitbull named Layla who is very reactive/aggressive towards other dogs and was seeking training/behavior classes. What Christy found was and reassured me of, was that Layla was not aggressive at all and that as a dog, she did not want to be. Rather, Christy said that she was very insecure of herself and I found that to be very true!! During session 2, Christy brought along her dog Mazzei and after only 3 sessions, Layla was able to co-exist with her PEACEFULLY!! It is truly amazing and I would have never been able to imagine that Layla would be able to be around another dog. Added bonus: Christy massages Layla when she is in distress which teaches her to calm down and it has been a huge help! Christy gives my boyfriend and I expert direction on how to properly train Layla as well as weekly "homework" assignments. Although we are still continuing training with Christy and onto our fourth week, we have found her to be a huge help and couldn't imagine the way Layla is now without her. I HIGHLY recommend Christy for training, behavior modification, and canine massage for your furbabies. You will not regret it!! If I could, I would rate her 10 stars! Do yourself a favor and hire Christy...like NOW! :)
Elena is an absolute professional. Her varied experience with different training methods as well as her biology degree make her, in my opinion, the perfect well rounded dog trainer. Elena is concerned with all aspects of your dogs emotional and physical health and with all those tools in her tool box she is an fantastic resource. My dog really enjoys working with Elena and doesn't try and run and hide when she comes over! The ultimate sign of a dog trainer who intuitively cares about your dog, and your dog knows it.
Here is a little history, we adopted a tree walker coonhound from a shelter in Tennessee and brought him home to Wisconsin. The first month was ok as we all got adjusted to each other. There were counter surfing, mouthing and dominance issues from the beginning. We knew we had a stubborn ALPHA, ALPHA male but we were working through it. The dog and I had an altercation over a rawhide where he became very aggressive and tried to bite me. From that day forward he would try to attack me unsolicited any time he saw me or heard my voice. It got so bad I would have to lock myself in a room so my wife could let him out. I am 6',1" tall and 220 lbs, this is the first time in my life with all the dogs I've owned that I was afraid of a dog. We talked to many behaviorist's whom all said we should just rehome the dog and had no answers for us. I was determined not to give up and make things work because I knew that this was a good dog deep down inside. That is when I was recommend to Shelly at "Hair of the dog that bit ya". I got a great feeling from her right away on the phone and was intrigued by her explanation of how she handles her training of dogs (it was a much different approach from what I was hearing from everyone else). This is a large breed hunting dog who is aggressive and she knew exactly how to handle it. She came out the very next morning to a situation where everyone in the house was uneasy and afraid of this dog who now was in total control of the situation. Long story short after two hours Shelly had broken the dog had him taking commands from both my wife and myself. We felt like we had our lives back and believe it or not the dog seemed happier that he now knew the pecking order. This was truly a Christmas miracle for my entire family. The picture attached is from the same day where that morning my dog wanted to kill me and what he was like by the afternoon! I cannot thank Shelly enough and I am so excited for our new life together with Bohannon. Todd & Shelly Bloom
Before we met Anna, my wife and I were ready to surrender our dog Zoey to the Washington County Humane Society. Zoey destroyed many things in our home to include bedsheets, comforters, sofa cushions, draperies, shoes, shirts, a recliner, four leashes and three pet harnesses, and that's not the complete list. Zoey was unable to walk with anything other then a 15' cable. She exhibited intense stress, fear, and anxiety. It was so bad that she would pull, tug, and bite on my carhartt jacket. ( thanks for making such a durable jacket carhartt! Lol). It was literally a tug a war every time we tried to take her out for exercise. Anna, discovered, and taught us so many valuable things about Zoey's condition that we were able to come up with a plan of how to work with in Zoey's comfort levels and now Zoey walks with a leash not a cable! She walks right next to my leg with plenty of slack in the leash, she does not exhibit any signs of anxiety anymore. I believe It is realistic to say Anna saved Zoey, not only from going back to the humane society but due to Anna's experience, education, and knowledge with dog psychology, dog behavior, and her understanding of the breeds; how they act and react in social situations, all this gave Zoey a better more calm and fulfilling life. I call Anna the "Saint of Dogs", and I think she has earned this title in the way she genuinely cares for and about animals and how they interact and coexist with humans. I strongly recommend Anna to everyone in need of dog obedience training and behavior modification training for their four legged friends. Sincerely, James & Aly Krieser
My 3 dogs look and smell great after getting groomed here. One of my dogs is part Schnauzer and we always get him a schnauzer cut, which isn't easy to do, I've been told. She did outstanding. I also have a yorkie who was dealing with an injury and she was able to work with him. After a bad experience at PetCo and having visited multiple dog grooming facilities, I am beyond pleased and satisfied with my experience at Deja Vu's K-9 Corner. I will be going back to get my dogs groomed here.
Emily is a naturally gifted, highly responsible and enthusiastically caring pet caregiver. She is dedicated to our dog, and our dog lights up around her. We have never seen our dog as happy as she is with Emily. Emily will spend extra time with our dog, consistently going above and beyond to provide excellent care and unforgettable service.
Lindy did a fantastic job with our puppy! She taught us techniques on how to better handle the dog and had our pup showing confidence and positive behaviors during the 1st session!
Have not experienced Carols expertise on dog training yet, but thumbtack app wants me to rate anyways. Carol has gone out of her way to contact me for a phone converstion and has been very patient w my unavailabilty. As for thumbtacts rating i would say 3 stars which a 5 star waiting for the app to allow u to schedule these appointments threw the app making all the phone calls a unnessacary step. Hope to see u soon ped pet dog training !
Jeanie Murray: Well, seven years ago Tom McMurchie worked with me and my 1-year old Labradoodle, Rush, in Phoenix AZ. I don't have adequate words to explain how wonderful the experience was. Tom was knowledgeable, professional, patient, humane, and just darn perfect. He trained me as well to make Rush an awesome, well-mannered family member. Then, Tom moved to Chicago. Rush is 8 years old (still perfect), but Tom has always been available for me to talk to him on the phone with dog-training advice. Then we brought a second Labradoodle into our home at 8 weeks old, Reagan. Do I ever wish Tom was still here to work with me and Reagan, who is a work in progress (almost 3 years old now). Actually, Tom did advise from afar when I had questions about Reagan. If you are looking for that perfect person to work with you and your dog, don't look any further than Tom McMurchie. Thanks, Tom!
Laura is magnificent with animals. She treated our dog like she was her own. The care and love Laura provides is 2nd to none. When we're out of town we never have to worry. She always takes her time with the walks and always makes sure our home is locked and secure when she leaves....A+
Brittany helped us with basic dog training but also tips to reduce reactivity. She's very personable and fun to work with. Our dog especially looked forward to our training sessions together
Carol is amazing. Our dog wa so calm and happy when we got home from our two week vacation, and I know it was because she was being loved when we were gone. Carol also sent us adorable pictures every time she visited our dog, which made us feel more confident that Béarnaise was having a great time and we needn't worry about her. So much peace of mind!! Once a few months after our trip, we ran into Carol on a dog walk. My dog spotted her from across a busy road and started crying and whining and trying to get to her to say hello. When we finally got to her, she was so happy to see her friend she couldn't stop jumping on her and licking her. You're definitely in good hands with Prairie Path!!
I used the owner of North Shore Dogs for a couple years before I moved down to the city and I can honestly say from experience that I have never felt more comfortable or confident in a dog walker than I do in NSD. She was always there when needed in a pinch and consistent about when and how long she took my dog out. In addition to the daily walks I also felt very comfortable leaving my home and my animals (cats and dogs) in here care for extended periods of time. I recommend NSD for all of your pet needs! Now I just wish she would extend her services downtown ;)
Great extra service added by YBFDH!! This place was really great with working out our dogs aggression, and then when we were ready they helped us get him certified as an emotional support dog. I noticed a review on here or their other page stating that a dog had been in a fight. I am the owner of the second dog in this " fight". The story in the review below is inaccurate. The owner of YBFDH acted as any business owner would in the situation that was presented. I think it is malicious and frankly disgusting to post such a review. YBFDH/AT YOUR SERVICE has been a god send for our family! If you're not satisfied with your experience I will reimburse you for your training costs!
Virginia was wonderful with my dogs! Highly recommend her!
