Amazing trainer! I learned so much about my dog and how to training my dog better
Brittany helped us with basic dog training but also tips to reduce reactivity. She's very personable and fun to work with. Our dog especially looked forward to our training sessions together
Cherie is amazing! Very responsive and has a great ability to work with any type of dog. I have a dog with high separation anxiety and she always does great with him. I never worry when my dogs are with her. I have also recommended several family members to her that have used her several times. You also get regular updates on your pets and she will always do spur of the moment photos and updates if you want them. My dogs have always been extremely tired by the time I pick them up, so I know they had a great time. I would highly recommend her!
So far we have had two dog training sessions with Carolyn and they have gone very well. She provided good training tips as well as other helpful information to help keep our dog healthy and intellectually stimulated. The positive dog training approach is just what we were looking for!
I hired Kim to help me train my young puppy whom I'd already somewhat spoiled. I was looking for help with puppy biting and jumping, setting rules and making him understand them and sticking to obedience training, which I find sorta boring. Kim was working the second she stepped through my door, showing me how to deal with the jumping and explaining my dog's body signals to me. She was funny and interesting to work with, not only told me what to do but WHY it works and went a step beyond what I'd gotten from trainers in dog class as far as connecting the pieces for me. She demoed every trick and technique she was showing me and made me feel like I can easily incorporate her tips into our daily life. I am very excited that I now have a more interesting approach to training my pup. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the information at the end of our time together and I think Kim could tell because she summed up what things I will need to work on with him. She gave me a clear plan of when I'd hear from her next so we could discuss challenges and progress and gave me options for working for her in the future if I chose to. I am definitely going to work with Kim again to see if I can improve the relationship between my dog and my boyfriend's dog and teach my pup how to nicely walk on a loose leash.
Here is a little history, we adopted a tree walker coonhound from a shelter in Tennessee and brought him home to Wisconsin. The first month was ok as we all got adjusted to each other. There were counter surfing, mouthing and dominance issues from the beginning. We knew we had a stubborn ALPHA, ALPHA male but we were working through it. The dog and I had an altercation over a rawhide where he became very aggressive and tried to bite me. From that day forward he would try to attack me unsolicited any time he saw me or heard my voice. It got so bad I would have to lock myself in a room so my wife could let him out. I am 6',1" tall and 220 lbs, this is the first time in my life with all the dogs I've owned that I was afraid of a dog. We talked to many behaviorist's whom all said we should just rehome the dog and had no answers for us. I was determined not to give up and make things work because I knew that this was a good dog deep down inside. That is when I was recommend to Shelly at "Hair of the dog that bit ya". I got a great feeling from her right away on the phone and was intrigued by her explanation of how she handles her training of dogs (it was a much different approach from what I was hearing from everyone else). This is a large breed hunting dog who is aggressive and she knew exactly how to handle it. She came out the very next morning to a situation where everyone in the house was uneasy and afraid of this dog who now was in total control of the situation. Long story short after two hours Shelly had broken the dog had him taking commands from both my wife and myself. We felt like we had our lives back and believe it or not the dog seemed happier that he now knew the pecking order. This was truly a Christmas miracle for my entire family. The picture attached is from the same day where that morning my dog wanted to kill me and what he was like by the afternoon! I cannot thank Shelly enough and I am so excited for our new life together with Bohannon. Todd & Shelly Bloom
I was having issues with my boy Brunswick. I had taken him to a different dog training program. It just wasn't enough for my stubborn boy. I needed an extensive in-resident program. Leslie was able to get him in immediately. She thoroughly explained what she was going to do to help me and Brunswick. I thought if he learned only half of what she said I would be happy. He was a bit overweight. He slimmed down and looks great. Leslie made some recommendations to his diet and he loves it. It also saves me some money. The program was not just for him. It was also for me. I am becoming a better dog handler. I am more confident in what I can do with Brunswick. When I have questions, Leslie responds quickly. I am so glad I found The Educated Canine. I wish I had known about her a year ago.
Before we met Anna, my wife and I were ready to surrender our dog Zoey to the Washington County Humane Society. Zoey destroyed many things in our home to include bedsheets, comforters, sofa cushions, draperies, shoes, shirts, a recliner, four leashes and three pet harnesses, and that's not the complete list. Zoey was unable to walk with anything other then a 15' cable. She exhibited intense stress, fear, and anxiety. It was so bad that she would pull, tug, and bite on my carhartt jacket. ( thanks for making such a durable jacket carhartt! Lol). It was literally a tug a war every time we tried to take her out for exercise. Anna, discovered, and taught us so many valuable things about Zoey's condition that we were able to come up with a plan of how to work with in Zoey's comfort levels and now Zoey walks with a leash not a cable! She walks right next to my leg with plenty of slack in the leash, she does not exhibit any signs of anxiety anymore. I believe It is realistic to say Anna saved Zoey, not only from going back to the humane society but due to Anna's experience, education, and knowledge with dog psychology, dog behavior, and her understanding of the breeds; how they act and react in social situations, all this gave Zoey a better more calm and fulfilling life. I call Anna the "Saint of Dogs", and I think she has earned this title in the way she genuinely cares for and about animals and how they interact and coexist with humans. I strongly recommend Anna to everyone in need of dog obedience training and behavior modification training for their four legged friends. Sincerely, James & Aly Krieser
As a first time dog owner I have learned that the process to a well behaved dog is the training of both the dog AND the owners. Our rescue one year old Birder Collie/Australian Shepard mix was pretty well behaved indoors and in our yard but had a very aggressive issue when meeting new digs and people. He could not be trusted to not bite either. After one session with Lynn and homework he was 100% better. After the second session I have little fear of having a problem. Buddy still needs some work however the change has been dramatic. Lynn comes to your home with written plans and homework assignments. Hire Lynn, you will not be disappointed. Jeff Wadsworth
I would highly recommend Julie to any of my friends (and have) that want to train their dogs. I like that she comes to your house. She was very helpful in giving me a different approach to training that is more my style of training. I have started using the techniques she has shown me in the past few days and my dog has shown improvements.
Vanessa has helped sit for my dogs when I was out of town for work on several occassions. She is very responsible and trustworthy. I had all faith my dogs were in good hands during my absence. I would recommemd her highly as the BEST! Plus, my dogs were spoiled with LOVE! Much better than boarding with the flexibility and comfort of them staying at home.
I will give your best friend the care that they desire and more. You let me know what they like, and I take care of the rest.
I have had years of experience interacting with all types of animals growing up on in the country when I was a child. Living in the suburbs I have had a lot of encounters with dogs and have always had a special connection with them.
I work with owners and their dogs to resolve behavior issues that contribute to dogs being surrendered to shelters and make homing them very difficult, if not, impossible.
I offer doggy nanny 911 services, as follows: training/communication, pet sitting, dog walking, boarding and grooming. I provide customized pet care that fits in your budget
