License Type: 146 - Massage Therapist or Bodyworker (WI)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Either an intake by phone or email with some general health questions. Then some more specific health questions based on the first set of answers. Sign a Massage Therapy Consent form online. Prepay for your massage session online. Choose a date and time that works best. I arrive 10 minutes early to set up. I perform the massage for the allotted time and then I'm out the door within 5 minutes of the session ending. :)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I graduated from Lakeside school of Massage Therapy where the emphasis was on treating conditions such as whiplash, carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet and restless leg syndromes, as well as correcting postural deviations. We identified weak and hypertonic muscles and then developed treatment plans to help correct the issues.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My Dad motivated me. He was a physical therapist who worked in nursing homes for half of his career and he would always talk about his clients and how much they appreciated his help.
