FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The minimum investment for a standard session with me is $600. The average client investment for a standard session with me is around $800; sessions with custom designs and sets generally start at around $1000 and go up from there, depending on the complexity of what you're looking for. Every booking starts with the session fee, which is your only up-front cost prior to seeing your images. The session fee is paid when you book your session, and covers my time, talent and equipment, all the costs of planning and preparing for your session, and the session time itself. The session fee is currently $300. I do not place a time limit on your session; my focus is on creating beautiful images to fill your gallery. A typical family session usually takes around 45 -60 minutes; sessions with small children may be shorter or longer depending on their attention spans, and the amount of time it takes to get them to warm up to the session. After your session, once I deliver your online proofing gallery of beautiful images, simply choose and purchase the digital image package that best fits your needs-- you only pay for the images you love. Digital Image Packages for standard sessions range from $300-$1,000. The typical total client investment for a standard family, maternity or children's session is $800. Archival-quality professional prints, enlargements, canvases, and more are available a la carte from my pro lab through your gallery cart after your session. I am more than happy to sit down with you in person and help you design and select the perfect wall art and albums for your home!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new client reaches out to me, my first goal is to understand their vision and hopes for their session. I want to hear when and where they're hoping to shoot and the feel and look they're hoping for in their images. We will discuss their budget, and how their vision fits into that budget. I will provide consultation on wardrobe, locations, setting, and more to ensure that we have a plan that fits exactly what they're hoping for. If my client wants something more customized than a standard session, we will discuss designs and budget to make it happen. Once our plan is made and on the calendar, I remain accessible for additional questions and consultation as needed through our session day and to delivery of final images.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father, a West Virginia small business owner of nearly forty years, instilled his classical work ethic and his passion for exceptional service in me as a child. When I would get to visit his big corner office as a little girl, I would sit in the side chair he kept for me and listen in fascination as he chatted with clients and distributors on the phone. It didn’t matter that I understood little of the actual content of their discussions (my father's field, fiberglass engineering, was over my head as a child.) His kindness, professionalism, and the individual care he gave to every person he spoke to, made a profound impression on me that has shaped the way I approach every client of my own, nearly thirty years later. In 2016, I brought my fifteen years of experience in client care to the photography industry, where I have been happily serving West Virginians families since. A passionate artist and designer, I am a self-taught photographer, relentlessly obsessed with improving my craft. Although my photography experience is broad, I currently specialize in the areas I love most– families and children. I have worked with children in various capacities most of my life, and now have four little ones of my own. It is my passion to provide you with an individualized, stress-free photography experience that produces timeless, high-quality images that will add beauty and joy to your life, and continue to grow in value over time.
