I actually had plumbing issues the day after I scheduled with him, so I canceled the job. I had the plumber install the vanity, however, Jason was very responsive, and knew what he was talking about on the phone. I will request him for other projects, but had to hire somebody else due to plumbing emergency.

I am so glad I chose Tim Jackson from Alliance Plumbing. He was here and done with the job in an hour. Even with problems with very old faucets. I needed leaks fixed in both my tub and bathroom sink. He worked hard until the job was done. He did an excellent job. Knows his job well. I have found a new plumber with Tim. Thank you Tim and thank you Thumbtack. Darlene Williams

Extremely knowledgable plumber who is kind, prompt, and respectful of your time and money. Sometimes, finding the right person for the job can be a shot in the dark and more often then not you get burnt by getting someone who is just trying to get money from you. But it is invaluable to have someone like Jarrett you can rely on again on again.

Dave installed the flanker in my toilet tank. Plus, he installed a new sink faucet for me. I forgot to buy the float. Fortunately, he offered a free visit the next day. He's such a nice person! He offered me $30/hr rate. At the end I only paid $85 for the installation of toilet and kitchen faucet all together. I never found any better deals in the decade. Most plumbers ask for at least $120 and up for single installation. Dave offered a rate you won't refuse, trust me! This guy knows his thing as if he was born with the talent finishing project! He is handyman sent to us by God. He probably fixed toilet for Jesus Christ in previous lifetime.

When we had a clogged pipe that we discovered on a Friday evening, we were afraid that we'd have to find a plumber and pay a very high premium rate for the weekend. So, we posted on Thumbtack and had a reasonable estimate back to us within a few hours. On top of Todd's reasonable rate, he was also able to arrange a crew to come by the very next day - which was a Saturday! They were able to unclog our pipes and we were back to normal by 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon! We were so pleased with both the price and the availability of Hanus Plumbing. Also, the crew was so nice and provided us tips to avoid this the next time. It was a true pleasure working with Hanus and they are now on our list to call again when we need plumbing work done. Great job all around and it was very well appreciated!

I had a backed up drain and needed a commode installed I called at least a dozen plumbers and couldn't get most of them to return my call and if they did their prices were out of site. Then I called Nathan Patterson with Patterson All In One Plumbing and my problems were solved he was very professional he returned my call within an hour and when I explained my situation he came over the very next day. And the best part of it all was his PRICE he was at least 25% cheaper than any other one of the plumbers that had returned my call. So if any of you need a plumber don't hesitate and call anyone except for Patterson All In One Plumbing (724)833-1737 YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

I have 3 years of experience as a plumber which includes getting well-educated on usage of the tools needed for different types of jobs. With guidance, I have successfully completed removing and installing electric and gas hot water tanks, working on boilers and furnaces, and running new water lines. This includes copper and PEX using SharkBite connections and soldering; installing toilets; working on mains; repairing, installing and disassembling stacks; and removing and installing bathroom, kitchen and laundry tub faucets, diverters, etc. My largest job to date was the demolition of Mellon Arena, disassembling all the fire lines and capping water and sewage lines in and out of the structure. We work a lot with demolition companies, residential as well as commercial clients. We have done work including new construction of buildings and homes. We are efficient at using eels, snakes, and among many other jobs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
