Introduction: I LOVE shooting small weddings and intimate ceremonies! I have a lot of personal experience with them. When my wife and I were married, we had a small, outdoor, picnic wedding. We planned everything and did a huge amount of the work ourselves, from designing and assembling the invitations to buying the food and making 35 pounds of potato salad. (free pro tip: 35 pounds of potato salad is way, WAY too much for 75 people!) Planning a small wedding can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but can present some unique challenges. Smaller weddings often have budgets and time-lines that do not fit the schedules and rates of the professionals who service the main-stream wedding industry. It can be hard to find vendors who are available.
