Elena and I have been working together for 2.5 years and I have made more progress with her than I made with any of my previous therapists. She gives you the tools to adjust your behavior while taking seriously the effects of the environment. While Elena helps you take control of your life, she deeply appreciates the external factors in a way therapists usually don't. She's a very warm and friendly person, and it feels more like you're having a conversation with a highly empathetic friend than your therapist. She also understands the unique challenges that come with being a person of color in the world and deeply appreciates and helps analyze people's experiences related to identity. She also helps one work through those issues and doesn't dismiss them as therapists in my past have. I feel wholly understood by her and recommend her highly for people of all backgrounds to work with.
